WWE Evolution 2018

Beth, Paige, and Renee are on the pre-show panel. Steph narrates the video about the EVOLUTION of the division from the divas division to the women's division. LADIESALLACROSSTHEWORLD! this song needs to die. Cole's audio is messed up to start the show. Nita Strauss is mid-ring being great. A terrible buttrock concert to start the show off. What is this? A WWA show? TRAILBLAZERS said twice in Cole's first sentence. Beth's Bull Nakano shirt is aces. Trish and Lita's match is the opener, which is smart since the first 30 minutes of the show is on Twitter and Youtube. Whether she wrestles or not, at least Alexa is in some new super-hot light blue shorts. Mickie and Alicia are in costumes, with Mickie being some weird vampire thing maybe.

Cole brings up Lita's retirement match in 2006. Ah yes, the one where WWE slut-shamed her afterwards.Trish got an unreal pop coming out and Lita barely does the headscissors. This show just as a show looks terrible with the WWE ECW-level lighting. Mickie and Trish go at it and it's so weird to see 2006-era stuff on a nostalgia show. Alicia accidentally boots Mickie and Alexa prevents a Lita moonsault. Nice northern lights by Alicia gets 2.

Trish and Mickie continue to have great chemistry, and Trish lands a nice sky high for 2. Trish gets 2.9999 off a Stratusfaction that Foxy was supposed to save earlier. In the end, Lita gets the Twist and both eat a moonsault before a Chick Kick wins it. This was pretty terrible when Lita was in there, but Mickie and Trish showed they should probably do a singles match. That was terrible and now we're backstage with more terrible audio. The crowd is louder than the Bellas are.

A WOMEN'S REVOLUTION video showcases Kelly Kelly and Sasha's goofy '90s jacket. Battle royal time! LOL at this show getting a commentators from around the world recap! Naomi, Michelle McCool, Sonya Deville, Alundra, Carmella, Zelina Vega, Kelly Kelly, Tamina, Ember, Lana, Molly, Dana Brooke, Maria, Mandy, Nia, Ivory, Asuka, Torrie, and the IIconics are in this. Madusa still has quite a bit of poise. Zelina's intro focuses on her dad dying in 9/11 and them coming to this building - so hope she wins. The IIconics' comedy works just as terribly on PPV as it does on TV. Wonderful.

They get dumped out right away, and Sonya and Mandy take out Molly. Lana wants a Happy Lana Day, but Tamina and Nia beat her up. Silly giant pile suplex. Carmella flosses and then dances with Ivory before that's broken up and Dana smashes the apron for her elimination. Ember tosses Asuka out after the hip attack misses in the rope. Eclipse to Tamina hits and Ember finally feels like a star on the main roster going up against Nia. A huge LET'S GO EMBER chant breaks out. Ember tries to take out Nia, but doesn't - so Zelina helps and thinks she's won. Nia tosses her out onto Tamina, who thank God catches her. Nia wins it and gets a pop - so okay, she'll face Ronda at some point.

Nia cuts a crying Tommy Dreamer promo on her title shot. A Girl Up video airs to celebrate all the good WWE does and oh yeah, some women talk about being recognized for their work. An awesome video package airs on Toni Storm and Io Shirai. Toni gets a shockingly great pop for this being her main roster and PPV debut. Toni's work, look, and whole act are main event main roster-level.

Toni gets a slap combo and a basement dropkick gets 2. Shirai gets a modified Rings of Saturn while Renee talks about SOAKING IN THE MOMENT. Dammit - the point of this move isn't to SOAK IN THE MOMENT, it's to weaken a body part and win a match and a tournament! Toni goes up, but Io hits a trianle dropkick to send her to the floor and then a moonsault off the top to the floor! APRON GERMAN TO IO! AND IT'S THE HARDEST PART OF THE RING TOO!

Toni's forearms are blocked and that hurts Storm, so Io forearms her down. Toni takes her head off with a lariat. Storm Zero hits for 2.5. Io lands a 619 and a springboard sunset flip for 2. Nasty shotgun knees hit Toni and she goes for the moonsault. Toni gets the knees up and the Tiger Driver wins it! I love Toni winning - her not getting the NXT UK Women's Title makes sense since Rhea has it and they just set up that Rhea didn't like her winning - so now Toni gets the MYC victory and will probably get the NXT UK Women's Title.

Io and Toni hug while HHH, Steph, and Sara Amato present Toni with flowers. A Crown Jewel ad airs right after and we get an evolution meaning video with Eve Torres. The Riott Squad is out with Ruby dressed as a magician. Sasha, Nattie, and Bayley are out. Finn has a goofy sign and looks like a goofball. Hart attack hits and Bayley's sliding dropkick doesn't and she eats the post via a dropkick. Sasha gets a hot tag and runs wild. Doomsday inverted bulldog from the squad, and Nattie gets a stupid double sharpshooter but Liv saves with her Not a Codebreaker for 2. Babyfaces win it after a Bayley elbow and Sasha frog splash and man did this go way too long.

Shayna's out to face Kairi. Shayna, like MVP when he made the main roster, fortunately doesn't look her age - but it might hurt her changes of being a top-level act on the main roster. I'd put her on SD after they do the Horsewomen tag (if they ever do) and then you spend a year building to Shayna vs. Ronda at Mania. Shayna destroys her with arm work and a nice hand stomp before locking on a kneeling kimura. Snap knee from Kairi gets an awesome sell by Shayna. Shayna's MMA background allows her selling to be so great - she knows what shit SHOULD feel like and then you know how to properly get that across. Kairi hits a corner spear and a running flipping neckbreaker.

Nice draping armbar by Shayna, but Kairi gets a DDT and Kairi dives onto her on the floor. Kairi tosses Shayna into the crowd, who Cole tells us are NXT trainees. .Jessamyn and Marina get involved! Choke gets a rollthrough for 2. Duke slugs her and a chokeout win for Shayna! HORSEWOMEN BEATDOWN INCOMING! Or not.

Becky vs. Charlotte is up. They avoid stuff for a bit until Charlotte shoves her on her ass. Becky does her legdrops before mocking the Flair strut and elbows her like she was a sports jacket. Becky canes her and they throw chairs in the ring. This reminds me of a Dean vs. Cesaro match on SD in like 2012 where they just put giant amounts of chairs all over the place to bump on. It was cool then - I enjoy replicating that in games now. Cole talks about all of Becky's cheers being some story that Becky is feeding the fans and they're buying it.Cole rattling off Becky's story in life as some bullshit story and then acting shocked that fans cheer her over Flair is amazing. Cole talks about how Charlotte earned everything and didn't get handed anything. Charlotte's moonsault hits Becky on the table, which doesn't break.
Charlotte lands a swanton through the table! They go down for a 9.5 and get up, and then fall down again. A ladder is used while they talk about ladders ending careers - yeah, like that of Beth's husband over time. SLAM ON THE LADDER, and it started as a becksploder, so they might've changed it to be safer. Charlotte teases a figure 8 with the ladder and stomps the knee. Charlotte gets it, and it looks ridiculous until Becky chairs her to escape. They brawl at ringside while talking about Becky leaving her while Ric was sick. They're off by a year there.

A ladder is set up by the German table. Becky legdrops her off a ladder through the table! They're willing themselves into as close to a five star match as humanly possible. Becky buries Charlotte under chairs. LOL @ Charlotte getting booed after getting up while Renee yells WHAT A WARRIOR! Charlotte canes her and spears her. BECKY POWERBOMBS HER OFF THE APRON THROUGH A TABLE! A giant Becky chant breaks out and BECKY WINS. GO BECKY BALBOA! So now Cole is telling the story that Becky overcame her doubters and acting like she is winning the title win this match. WTF?

Crown Jewel ad gets booed on-air. Wow. Nikki gets a huge pop with Brie having a Bella flag. Ronda has some horrid blue makeup on, but I love the black and blue gear. Nikki keeps trying to dive at Ronda and Ronda reminds her that she can snap the arm whenever she wants. Nikki grinds away and attacks her on the floor. Nikki smashes Ronda on the post in a unique way - which was great to see.

Nikki gets an abdominal stretch, but Ronda tosses her out. Disaster kick gets 2 for Nikki. Ronda tosses her off the top and misses a crossbody. DOUBLE ROWDY BUSTER! Ronda gets the tossing exploder, but Brie attacks her - so Ronda tosses her over the announce table. Alabama slam gets 2 for Nikki! Rack Attack 2.0 gets 2! Ronda gets a super small package and the armbar ends it! Travis Browne eats her face for a bit and then she hugs fans. Ronda does an almost Tanahashi-esque celebration after the match with the fans while Nia looks on angrily at a 90 degree angle. Ronda celebrates with the roster on the stage after a WM-level highlight video airs.

Mid-South Wrestling 1-16-82

The WWE Network has this listed as 1-16, while the Mid-South Wrestling Podcast (which I'll be listening to alongside this), has it as 1-15. Brian Last talks about Paul Ellering being gone from MSW now. Boyd Pierce is in a silly red suit while Bill Watts has a giant...pimp medallion...or something on his shirt. The Monk is in the ring to face Brian Blair. Oh joy. Blair is SO PALE. Jesus. Bill Watts's audio clip during the match on the podcast talks about how a big six-man tag is here on TV and that allows folks with handicaps who can't get to the arena to see big stars. Blair wins with a grounded abominal stretch to the applause of no one in the crowd. Bill Watts rants on air traffic controllers being so helpful to him.

Dusty, Andre, and JYD face Ernie Ladd and the Samoans. Andre works some ungodly fake-looking offense against both Samoans. The Samoans double slam Andre. Ernie gets double backdropped and Andre pins him with a splash-ish thing off the second rope. Mr Olympia faces Zapata and starts off with a long armbar. Olympia gets 2 off an O'Connor roll. Bill uses this match as a chance to rant on a guy he knows who goes back on bets. Olympia takes him out with a sleeper and a perfect sell of it. Bill leaves and Boyd talks about how Bill does so much good work for the crippled children.
Ed Wiskowski faces Tommy Wright, which should result in a rant on literally anything by Watts. He wins with a pendulum backbreaker that goes on for seemingly 20 years despite being three minutes long. Murdoch faces Bob Roop, which is another big match for TV. Murdoch does a bit of matwork before dodging strikes and getting in a big forearm after being in what I guess is a Roop blind spot. Murdoch kips up and Roop works on the arm for ages. Roop is knocked into Orndroff resulting in a brawl and a DQ. Ted makes a save.

Ernie Ladd is out in a green shirt and bright white pants for a big rant. Frank Monte and Jesse Barr face the Samoans. Big headbutts and a Samoan drop end it. Bob Orton Jr. is out to face Mike George. George hits an atomic drop sending Orton into the buckle before a Russian legsweep. The Samoans jump Mike George before JYD and Dusty come out for a save. Dusty cuts a fantastic promo on the Samoans.

Canon 80D Review

Intro

Costco's Canon 80D is an outstanding buy for any camera user. The DSLR market is a crowded field, with Canon and Nikon ruling the roost and Sony's mirrorless offerings joining the fray over the past few years. It makes picking a high-quality camera a tough choice to make, but hte 80D is a fantastic option for both newcomers and experienced photographers alike. The 80D follows up on the prior 70D model with some fantastic improvements. The body features new weather sealing, protecting it against dust and moisture. It also features a polycarbonate exterior and a magnesium alloy chassis - offering a fairly large improvement in terms of overall build quality to lower-end Canons like the entry-level T6 or lower-end enthusiast-level T6i. While those are fine cameras in their own right, the 80D's higher build quality ensures that it won't shatter upon impact if you should happen to drop it. (knowledge bomb)

The 80D uses Canon's standard 24 megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor, which uses Canon's dual pixel phase-detection autofocus system. A dual pixel sensor uses 100% of the pixels available for phase-detection autofocus. This offers up a much faster autofocus time while also allowing the image itself to be more crisp. This holds especially true when you're in optimal lighting conditions. Comparing it to other Canons, the 80D's 45 focus points beat out the T6i's 19 by a wide margin and ensure that your images will come out looking crisp every time. The viewfinder shows off 100% of what the camera itself can see, versus about 95% for the T6i. The viewvinder itself is also about 40% larger and ensures that those who use a viewfinder exclusively will get more accurate shots compared to users of lower-end cameras.

Shooting for extended periods of time is a breeze with the 80D as its 960 shot battery life is more than double that of the next-closest Canon. With thise kind of battery life, a user could be out all day and take photos in both RAW and JPEG formats for an entire day. The 80D also shoots at 7 frames per second compared to the T6i's 5 FPS, and that is a huge benefit for anyone looking to shoot sports or any kind of motion-related activity. Even something as simple as going to a graduation and wanting to capture the exact moment a child receives their diploma can be missed if your camera can't keep up with motion. With the ability to capture seven shots in a single second, you can rest easy knowing that either fast or slower-motion activities will be captured forever.

The articulating touchscreen makes capturing shots from just about any angle easy to do. Moving the screen to face the subject allows for them to see themselves before a shot is taken, or you can use it to take the sharpest selfie money can buy. If you prefer to be behind the camera, then using the LCD screen makes framing shots easier than usual a viewfinder - especially in low-light environments. Should you find yourself in an area with minimal external lighting, you can always count on the built-in flash to help you out. It provides a boost in lighting and because it's not right above the lens as is the case with most point and shoot cameras, the light it provides will now completely cover the your photos and is spread out evenly over the shot.

While DSLRs are commonly thought of as just being great for photos, the 80D is fantastic for videos as well. For full HD 1080p videos, you can get crisp 60 FPS video out of it very quickly. The articulating screen makes framing your subject a breeze for any kind of video. For vloggers, you can frame the shot in advance and save yourself countless time editing or reshooting. For videographers shooting in odd locations, or in places where your natural viewing angles are limited, having a screen that can move freely is a huge help. It enables you to move the screen in such a way that you can minimize not only camera movement, but also your own movement and still get the footage you need quickly.

Videographers will also love that the 80D has an external mic jack since that makes capturing more nuanced audio much easier. The built-in mic is fantastic for regular everyday usage, but for a professional looking for something to capture professional-grade footage, having an external mic allows you to do things like hear more than one person speaking clearly. You will also naturally get higher-quality audio with an external mic since that is a device made specifically for capturing audio, while the mic is a fairly small part of the camera itself and has some limitations placed on it due to that. For capturing a casual conversation or for offering up an opinion or instructions, it will be fine - but for anything requiring special circumstances such as a windy day outdoors, an external mic is best.

Moving your content from the camera to either a computer, a phone, or social media is a breeze. The 80D uses NFC and WiFi to allow you to send your photos to other devices with the Canon Connect app. This allows you to not only show friends and family what you're up to in record time, but it makes it much easier to send photos to a computer for formal editing. Gone are the days of having to move things around using just an SD card. The 80D's new mirror vibration control system ensures that shutter shock is minimal - which is going to save users valuable editing time trying to get motion blur out of a shot. The 80D also features a 7560 pixel RGB+IR metering sensor that gives the camera human subject awareness when shooting with the viewfinder. This enables the camera to focus on the person instead of the background and makes getting a nice, blurry background easier than ever before.

With an ISO range of 10-25600, the 80D can be counted on to get solid shots in any condition with some degree of external light. Unless you are in an area with absolutely no light, you can count on getting clean shots with the help of the flash. For novice shooters, going with the 80D with an 18-55mm lens is a fine option - but it will limit the kind of shots you can take. In the long run, you are far better off going with an 18-135mm kit lens. An 18-55 is fine for wide angle and portrait shots, but you can't get very far with a lens that small. An 18-135 lens allows you to easily get shots of things like an impressive-looking cloud formation or a rarely-seen moon. Going with a longer-rage included lens offers up far more value and allows you to get more kinds of shots from the camera on day one.

FAQ

How many megapixels is the Canon 80D?

The Canon 80D shoots 24.2 megapixel images.

What kind of resolution can I get from photos shot with an 80D?

The 80D's smallest resolution offered is 720 x 480 and its highest is 6000 x 4000. There are several other options well, including a small size that gives you 2976 x 1984 resolution. One big caveat to using small image sizes is that you are dramatically decreasing the overall quality of your shot.

What is the resolution for video recording?

The 80D shoots full HD 1920 x 1080p video - offering video quality on par with Blu-Ray discs.

How can I switch from shooting images to shooting movies?

The top-right hand side of the camera back has a small dial on it showing a white TV and a red camcorder. To shoot video, turn the dial to the red camcorder and to shoot images, turn it to the white television.

How do I change the lenses on an 80D?

The front of the camera has a button right near the lens - press the button inward and rotate the lens clockwise. To put a new lens on, match up the white notch on the lens with the one on the camera and turn the lens counter clockwise to lock it in place.

WWCW 10-8-188

There's not much of a rhyme or reason to watching this episode other than it has Robbie Garvin and Robert Gibson - and I don't remember them ever being in WCCW, so this should be fun.We see Hayes and Steve Cox face the SSTs in Memphis. Hayes drops the fall, but his foot is locked in the ropes. Hayes cuts a promo on Buddy for being an alcoholic and he cuts an intense promo on Lee for telling him to look at the hard camera. Lots of HELL NOs here. Percy introduces Ronnie Garvin to face Black Bart.

Ronnie twists him around on the mat before Bart misses a legdrop and Ronnie wins with a jacknife cradle. A recap of the Kerry-Lawler stuff airs before Robert Gibson faces Tom Jones. They have a sloppy match with Jones hitting a rabbit lariat. Robert reverses a slam into a small package to win. Steve Cox and his amazing mullet yammer for a bit before Kendall Windham talks about Akbar trying to buy him out.

Terry Gordy faces Not Kamala the Botswana Beast. The Beast locks on 50 nerve holds before a brawl breaks out and Gordy gigs. It winds up being a double countout. Gordy talks about breathing down Akbar's neck and he'll do it until he's done with him. A recap video airs of the past few weeks - not a bad show, but nothing too special and MY GOD WAS THE BEAST TERRIBLE.

NJPW King of Pro Wrestling 2018

Liger and Tiger Mask get jumped by Desperado and Kanemaru to start. The heels begin unmasking the faces and Rocky is a big fan of this since he was unmasked as Black Tiger 9 years ago, so he's bitter. Liger rolls up Kanemaru for a quick 2 and then a Fujiwara armbar. Tilt a whirl backbreaker and a powerbomb leads to a Tiger Mask headbutt for 2. Ref bump and Liger hits a somersault senton off the apron to the floor. TIGER SUPLEX BUT THERE'S NO REF! Pop-up ball kick, a whiskey bottle shot, and the Angel's Wings ends it. BOOO! I wanted Liger to win the Jr Tag Titles - so hey, they found a great way to make the nothing opener matter.

Juice and Henare face Makabe and Honma, which is Honma's return to an actual tag match. Hopefully Honma has either improved his health or Makabe is in for 90% of this. Honma and Henare clash with shoulderblocks and lariats before Honma wins a suplex battle. Henare hits a rugby tackle to Makabe for 2 thanks to a Honma save. Double lariat to Henare before a kokeshi and the king kong knee to win. Honma looked fine-ish here. He's certainly not what he was, and never will be, but in shorter matches like this, he can roll back the clock enough.

Bucks, Page and Chase are out to face the OG BCs - who come out to Shot 'Em, which isn't the OG theme, but the best one. Fale, Loa, Tonga, and Ishimori are out. Tonga destroys Matt's back, which is all taped up. They take the tape off and splash him in the corner. Page moonsaults off the top onto the pile. Fale eats a double superkick, but Taiji gets a double rana and a twisting dive. Gun stun into a cradle for 2. Chase hits a pump kick and a pump knee! The 3D hits though and the OGs win it.

Goto, Ishii, and Ospreay face Suzuki, Taichi, and IIzuka - whose Hannibal mask is a great touch. Ishii and Suzuki brawl while Goto snap suplexes Tacihi onto Iizuka. Suzuki beats the shit out of Goto's chest with kicks. Front choke, but Goto counters into a suplex. ISHII AND SUZUKI YAY! They charge like bulls at each other a ton before a tackle gives Ishii a edge - Suzuki moves so well for a 50 year old who has been through that many wars. Taichi eats a flaoting kick by Will for 2. Storm Runner hits and he beats Taichi - give him the NEVER Title so he can go into the heavyweight division officially. He holds the belt high.

LIJ's newest member is hyped up with a video showing them all playing poker. We get a slick recap of all of the existing members of LIJ's joining alongside their date - so it's been three years since Watanabe found charisma and both Hiromu and SANADA have been in for around 2 years. I love the overall look of this video - it's so slick and major league. BUSHI, SANADA, Naito and X are up for an 8 man tag. Naito has a cape and it looks amazing. Naito teases that it's Milano Collection AT, but it's not.

X comes out with THE DRAGON on the screen and it's Shingo Takagi! They'll face Sho, Yoh, Okada, and Yano! Sho and Shingo have great chemistry to start. Yano gets tied up in the ropes before Shingo gets 2 on Yoh with a suplex. Okada and Naito battle it out a for a bit with Naito getting the combination dropkick. Shingo hits last falconry on Yoh to win.

ZSJ is out to face EVIL, who has a slick caravan of evil. One of EVIL's druids IS THE IWGP IC CHAMPION CHRIS JERICHO! Jericho with the rain slicker on, minimal face paint, and letting the grey show in his beard really does look fantastic. ZSJ denies knowing anything about this. Jericho debuts a new Alpha Club shirt. ZSJ can't get a win, but he does destroy EVIL, the ref, and young boys.

Marty is out for the finals of the IWGP Jr tourney to face KUSHIDA, who he has never beaten. The story is told of KUSHIDA always beating Marty - making wins and losses so very important. Cradles aplenty result in no counts until a flash cradle gets 2. Marty gets a surfboard, but it doesn't last long. They fight up top for a diablo armbar by KUSHIDA, which Rocky puts over as his move. Scurll goes for Graduation, but KUSHDA gets the air raid crash. Marty powerbombs him and lifts him into Graduation for 2.9! KUSHIDA hits the back to the future and then a second one to win!

Switchblade is out with Gedo to face Tana. They parlay White's red and black gear into a knock on Nakamura. Tanahashi in white, black, and red is such a perfect look for him. Tana poses on the top rope and you scan see his deformed bicep. I love the detail work in having the document in the briefcase, having it look legit, and making an important match out of a piece of paper with a date on it.

Jay White stalls for a bit before they brawl on the floor for a long time. HIGH FLY FLOW BODYBLOCK OFF THE TOP TO THE FLOOR! Rocky hypes up Tana as a man who fights more strategically than ever before. White nails a flatliner and a stiff German! White gets a brainbuster/neckbreaker combo, but Tana gets a dragon suplex off a blade runner! High Fly Flow bodypress! High Fly Flow gets 2.9, but GEDO PULLS RED SHOES OUT! Gedo has a giant pair of knucks, but he misses - Switchblade doesn't miss a low blow. A giant GO ACE chant breaks out. Jay goes for a chairshot, but Tana slugs him in the nuts! Blade runner is turned into a small package and Tana wins! Tana will return to the Tokyo Dome main event!

White attacks folks, and goes for Tana, but OKADA SAVES TANAHASHI! Goddamn that's so cool! Okada goes to beat up Gedo, but Jado saves him. The BC OGs are out are grab Jado and Gedo so Okada can beat them up. It's a trap as Tonga gun stuns him! Gedo and Jado join up with the OGs to beat up Okada before Jay White joins in! TOO SWEET INTO A BLADE RUNNER! So I guess we'll get White vs. Okada at the Tokyo Dome - possibly for a title shot. It's time for the main event, with Cody facing Ibushi and Omega in a triple threat. Omega is in a great getup tonight.

Cody eats big chops, but gets a figure 4 as a counter to a dragon suplex. Ibushi hits a corkscrew dive into Kenny. Cody eats a nasty V trigger, but Cody powerbombs Kenny into an Ibushi German for 2. Disaster kick is met with a round kick to the chest by Ibushi! Ibushi gets mounted palm strikes and then punches. SPIKING CROSSROADS FOR 2.9 ON KENNY! Cody punts Ibushi on the rope and goes for Din's Fire, which gets 2.9 when Omega pulls Cody's leg off the cover. Cody gets a chair, but Omega shields Ibushi. Cody kicks Kenny away, while Ibushi gets the chair from Cody. Ibushi high kicks Cody and eats a reverse rana from Kenny and then the Jay driller hits for 2.9! V trigger and then the one winged angel end it! Omega retains!
