AEW Dynamite 7-13-22 Fyter Fest Night 1

Tonight has Mox vs. Takeshita in a title qualifier for Takeshita, and a triple threat tag title war. OC and Wardlow start the show off with their TNT Title match and a cool shot of both guys backstage. Danhausen got the Best Friends managers licenses and we get a POSEDOWN to start! Deja vu and WARDLOW CARTWHEELS OUT OF IT! Chuck brings A CHAINSAW out here to take out Wardlow and he gets tossed out WITH TRENT, who is offended!

Wardlow pulls Danhausen out from under the ring and NIXES THE CURSE if he lets him go and he does - only to eat an ORANGE PUNCH! Belly to belly hits for Wardlow. OC avoids a corner charge and head bonks him into the buckle a few times. Wardlow catches him on the crossbody, but OC escapes the catch and chopblocks him. OC wants a Beach Break, but Wardlow wants a powerbomb and OC clutches the leg. A pair of giant DDTs get ONE for OC! F10 AND THE ONE FOOT PIN GETS 2!

OC avoids a powerbomb and gets a rana and tope! STUN DOG AND THE ORANGE PUNCH! BEACH BREAK GETS 2.9! Wardlow catches an Orange punch and a desperation powerbomb and stack ends it! THIS RULED! What a showcase for both guys. War Dog offers up a fist bump and OC gives him one. Tremendous! PAC vs. Shota highlights air. Jericho's out in a candy apple red suit jacket and slacks combo looking like a Miami Vice drug lord.

He says he is THE living legend and he is better than Kingston and he says that being a friend with Kingston is the worst curse you could have - far beyond anything Danhausen could do. They crushed Ruby's hand is because she's YOUR RUBY! He'll take him out as the Painmaker and prove Kingston isn't on his level. Mox-Takeshita is up next! But first, Kingston says he'll get revenge for Ruby and he'll pay with every ounce of his blood. "I'm as happy as a clown today!" - I love Regal so much.  

Big chop battle and Regal compares it to rams going at it and then Mox headlocks him down. KING KONG LARIAT by Mox off a whip! Piledriver by Mox gets 2.5. Mox wants an apron driver, but Takeshita traps the leg in the rope. BACK AND FORTH FOREARMS and Mox eats an apron German and blocks the head landing before a forearm exchange and an ad break. Mox eats a hard shot and Mox splits Takeshita open mid-break. Leaping lariat by Takeshita! 

Takeshita hits a yakuza kick in the corner, but eats a corner forearm before Mox eats a sheer drop brainbuster for 2! Mox wants a choke, but Mox turns it into an armbar and Takeshita rolls into it and gets the rope. Rana by Takeshita and a flip dive to the floor! Frog splash hits for 2.9! Mox lands a ton of back and forth forearms before eating a big one and a blue thunder bomb for 2.9. Death Rider, elbows, and he gets up and HITS AN EVEREST GERMAN FOR 2.9! DEATH RIDER, ELBOWS, AND THE RNC END IT! This was a classic!

House of Black promo on Darby - Brody will take what Darby has to get his. Cage buries Pillman's mullet and does the same line about his father being dead - but at least his father was a legend, to others, but he wasn't a LIVING LEGEND LIKE HE IS. He brings up that Griff looks like Jack and then Luchasaurus stalks him and hits a German. Tar Pit is the Snare Trap with the nerve pinch and wins it. Headbutt to Pillman takes him out and he puts Pillman on the table and chokeslams Griff on it and it didn't break. A second one does the trick. Great stuff. 

Tony interview with the JAS being in the shark cage next week. Ang uses his switchblade comb and Garcia cuts a great promo and Garcia wants the Pure Title at Death Before Dishonor. That should be a fantastic match. Hangman is backstage in tie dye and Reynolds and Silver cut a promo on House of Black and want them for Rampage. JR's out. Hager vs. Claudio is out and should be better with JR on commentary. 

YAY REGAL IS BACK ON COMMENTARY! Fast uppercut to start and the swing is teased, but Hager gets the rope. Swiss16 hits for Claudio. Corner lariat chain is avoided by Claudio and Hager eats some uppercuts. Hager unloads with gut shots and kidney punches before bealing Claudio! Hager bomb gets 2. Deathlock is on but he calls down on the JAS and they run in so the uranage gets 2.5. VERY EUROPEAN UPPERCUT HITS! Ricola Bomb ends it! This was fun.

Hook smirks at the thought of a title shot and Anna Jay faces Serena Deeb next. Rosa's TJPW loss is shown before Britt and Jamie chat about the damage of thunder storms and give Tony a sandbag. Okay then sure. Deeb vs. Jay is up and Jay is the hometown girl and gets the Queen Slayer, but Deeb snaps her neck on the rope. Twist and shout gets 2 for Deeb. Flying forearm by Jay and the RNC is back on and Deeb rolls through for 2. Backslide rollthrough back and forth leads to a back drop cover that gets botched a bit. Butterfly lock with the backside is on Jay before a corner kick misses and Deeb dragon screws her. QUEEN SLAYER IS BACK ON and the Serenity Lock gets the win. This was fun - a good showing for Jay. Mercedes makes a save for Jay.

Jade and the Baddies with Tony and they bitch about the interim baddie situation and we'll get the Gunn Club on Rampage. ROH PPV is hyped for Fite and BR, but not Honor Club. Lethal says that he'll take Joe out and he picks the worst-possible way to hold the headset. Darby vs. Brody is up for next week alongside Blonds vs. House of Black. Tay is a shitty friend to Anna Jay backstage. Starks and Hobbs look like MEGASTARS for their intro!

Matt goes for a headlock and gets bodied. SWERVE VS. NICK is up! They go toe to toe and evenly-match each other on counters. LOCOMOTION ROLLING NORTHERN LIGHTS after Swerve and Nick fight up top. Locomotion Northern Lights on Hobbs and Lee...does not work and they double suplex Matt down. Lee catches a Buck and powerbombs him on the other on the apron. HOBBS AND LEE HOSS BATTLE! Powerplex is avoided by Hobbs and he lands a BULLFROG SPLASH AS CALLED BY JR!

Doomsday cutter by Starks and Hobbs! SUPERKICK PARTY TO LEE! He falls to a knee and Starks adding in lets the superkick party send Lee down. THEY SUPERKICK STARKS AND HE SUPERKICKS MATT when they tease a belt shot! Swerve grabs the belt and teases a shot to Lee but doesn't and gets a low blow. BELT SHOTS APLENTY by the Bucks get 2. BTE Trigger to Swerve leads to 2.9 when Starks breaks it up! SWERVE BOMB GETS 2.9999999 WHEN TEAM TAZ BREAKS IT UP! HOBBS SPINEBUSTERS EVERYONE ON LEE!

SPEAR HITS SWERVE BUT THE BUCKS BREAK IT UP! LEE BODIES HOBBS OVER THE TOP WITH A BELLY TO BELLY! DOUBLE JUMP MOONSAULT FROM SWERVE OFF LEE'S CHEST TO THE FLOOR! PPPOUNNNCE TO STARKS BY LEE! LEE FLIP DIVE ON THE PILE! SWERVE STOMP HITS AND SWERVE IN OUR GLORY ARE THE CHAMPS! Easy five-star match here. Wow! 

WWE MITB 2022

The pre-show features a FANTASTIC Riddle training video that I'm sure we'll see a billion times on the main show. JBL loses his shit picking Sami and throws papers around. Nice hype video with a fireworks theme in keeping with July 4th - the ladder and WWE Titles look great in firework form. 

Women's MITB starts off and Becky is in a goofy green and black getup. Asuka's physical charisma is unreal - especially with that umbrella. Asuka bulldogs Becky on the ladder. Raquel goes to lift Becky and Liv up on opposite ends of a ladder and gets...Becky up. Well that didn't work - double suplex did. Becky with a legdrop to a half-dozen people...kinda. Ditto the Molly go round sorta hitting.

Asuka and Shotzi go back and forth for a suplex on a ladder and Shotzi eats a hiptoss onto it. Lacey getting booed out of the building here. Lacey gets sunset bombed by Liv on Raquel's shoulders and NO ONE DOES AND IT HITS WELL! WOW! Raquel gets hung up and Shotzi chops her. CLIMB! Jesus. She drops Alexa horribly on the ladder off an electric chair. Raquel goes for a deadlift suplex and we get a near Rampage bomb into a Becky boot sending Asuka on the ladder.

Legdrop off the ladder to Asuka and she just bounces off her! Liv and Becky fight on the ladder and Becky bounces her to the rope and SHE SPRINGS BACK AND KICKS BECKY OFF TO WIN! Fantastic stuff for Liv. Long Theory vs. Lashley video sets up their match with Lashley going for the post F5 and Theory avoids it by kneeing him. Lashley wants it again and Theory jumps on the apron to avoid him before hopping onto him and Lashley catches him - mostly, and Theory eats the post. PERFECT catch from Lashley on that roll through. Wow! Right into the press powerslam for 2.

Theory avoids the Yokosuka cutter and Lashley avoids the PK, but eats a cradle for 2. Rollthrough spear hits for Theory, but A-Town Down is met with a Hurt Lock and Lashley wins it. Lashley wins the US Title to get it off Theory so they have more freedom with the Cena match - good stuff. Bianca vs. Carmella is third - quite a drop from a Mania main event for Bianca. 

Mella's tron has the Lambo logo in it. Bianca overpowers her and eats a superkick. MASSIVE backflip off the top to mid-ring for Bianca leads to her overpowering Carmella on a deja vu and backbreakering her. Apron superkick by Carmella before a bronco buster gets 2. RINGS OF SATURN BY MELLA! Bianca powers out and a KOD finishes it. This was better than expected and Corey had some great lines about Carmella not being on his insurance and not knowing what to do with a caseful of champagne. Mella jumps her after the bell so I guess we get a TV rematch. Hilarious live events video with Miz and then they announce Logan Paul's signing.

Usos are out and hopefully have designated drivers. Profits out in big-league gear tonight. Love it! They set up that the Profits aren't getting along here - so maybe they can face off for a Summerslam match. Profits crotch chops. Mounted punches from Jey. Lot of nothing going on in this thing. THEORY OF ALL PEOPLE had a better match so far. "Jimmy looks like someone on the Strip without a clue where he's at!" - Well...

Tez eats the Shelton-HBK superkick spot from the buckle. Crazy to see the Shelton-HBK superkick spot just become a spot and yet NEVER LOOK AS GOOD as it did then. Unreal how perfectly that was done. Demo Decapitation from the Usos gets 2. Tez hops into a big uppercut and we get a dueling chant. DAWKINS DIVE AND HE LANDS ON HIS FEET! He runs wild and gets 2.9! 

POUNCE INTO A GERMAN GETS 2.9! Now it's in high gear! TOWER OF DOOM BLOCKBUSTER GETS 2.9! Double Blockbuster is avoided and Tez eats the double superkick for 2.9! HIGH FLY FLOW HITS AND JIMMY SAVES AT 2.99999! A hockey fight breaks out and the Usos win that and the 1D hits and ends it. This was an endless match at points but holy shit, it was hitting high eights A LOT. A weird one - you could rate it highly or lowly and be right. Replay shows that Montez's right shoulder was off the canvas and the ref missed it - good stuff and I look forward to a rematch at Summerslam.

Great Applebee's ad with Montez is a fly shirt. Edge is seemingly returning at Summerslam. Long Ronda vs. Nattie video. Nattie is out in the worst-looking getup ever and her tits look ENORMOUS. Jesus. Lots of shit-talk. Stomping. A chinlock. Basement superkick by Ronda. SHARPSHOOTER BY RONDA DOING HBK'S POSE! Draping sharpshooter off the apron by Nattie but Ronda sends her into the post. Ronda taps her out with an armbar counter and Liv cashes in. 

Ronda takes her down with an ankle lock and we get several perfect teases of a tapout before Liv kicks the knee and cradles her to win it! Fantastic moment for her and they played it up big. This feels like it should be it for Ronda or close to it - her star has fallen HUGE and she doesn't have that same spark. LONG Roman-Brock video airs. Men's MITB is up and RIDDLE IS IN HIS HOMETOWN!

Pearce adds THEORY to the MITB match and Drew just looks like hke he's seen this story before. Omos massacres dudes with slams and chokeslams. Moss and Drew send him out with a double clothesline and they all bury him with a ladder. Moss tossed Theory into the post. Moss powebrombs Sami onto a ladder in the corner - YIKES! Draping DDT from Riddle off the ladder. Floating Bro off the ladder KOs Sheamus and Theory gets tree slammed by Theory.

BROGUE KICK TO OMOS! Helluva kick too! Triangle locked on on the ropes! FLYING HEADBUTT to Omos and Drew almost smashes his head on the ladder. Love the Stomp on the apron! SIX MAN SHIELD BOMB TO OMOS THROUGH THE TABLE! 

Future Shock to Sheamus! Drew climbs up and BUTCH SAVES SHEAMUS! V TRIGGER TO DREW BY SHEAMUS! Sheamus climbs and gets pushed off the ladder by Drew pushing off the ladder and a claymore to Butch. Moss climbs and gets shoved off by Seth and doesn't have a clean landing - might've jacked his knee up. RKO BY RIDDLE OFF THE LADDER TO SETH!

Theory steals the win and is Mr. MITB. Okay then.
