AEW Dynamite 12-28-22

The show starts off with Danielson vs. Ethan Page and Bryan wins with the busaiku knee and the Regal stretch. Joe cuts a pre-taped promo on Wardlow saying the team gave him a chance to study Wardlow and he used that to his advantage. Wardlow cuts a live promo and Joe pipes him on the leg. 

Mox and Claudio do the crowd intro and it kinda works in a weird way for Claudio. Top Flight should work really well with these two. Dante dives onto Claudio and he gets caught and SOS slammed. Top rope back rake by Mox, but he gets his knee clipped and Ex ties it into the Wardlow attack - I like it! UPPERCUTS APLENTY FOR DANTE IN THE CORNER! SWING TO DARIUS! Dante superkick into a slingshot flatliner by Darius for 2! DARIUS SPANISH FLY GETS 2! NEUTRALIZER HITS FOR 2.9! HOLY SHIT CHANT THERE AND YEAH BUDDY! SWINGING UPPUERCUT OF DEATH WINS IT! This ruled! 

Rampage footage shows OC and Sabian brawling and OC says that he's giving Trent a shot first. HOOK IS HERE! Corner lariat and a hard head and arm tie suplex! Crossfaces and Redrum ends it! Stokely says that Hook is the Southwest Airlines of AEW! Big Bill avoids a t-bone and goes for a chokeslam, but Jack Perry 2x4s his back. Andretti-Jericho video before a crazy Bucks falls count anywhere video airs ahead of the FCA match tonight.

Massive backstage brawl to start and Pac hits a big moonsault before a superkick on a travel case. TORNILLO OFF A TUNNEL! Double northern lights gets 2! Death Triangle triple trash can dropkick gets 2! TRASH CAN V-TRIGGER TO PAC!  DOCTOR WILY BOMB GETS 2! FOOTSTOMP/FEAR FACTOR ON THE FLOOR TO KENNY GETS 2! BUCKS CHAIR THROW HITS THE OTHER IN THE CORNER! JESUS!

BTE TRIGGER GETS 2.9! Meltzer driver is avoided! Accidental Bucks superkick to his partner leads to a schoolboy! OWA OFF THE RAMP THROUGH A TABLE ENDS IT! Kenny wins and PAC's Brutalizer doesn't count! Tay Jay-AS vs. Willow and RUBY RUBY RUBY SOHO! Willow and Ruby are fantastic together. Night shade to Tay! Standing STO to Anna and No Future hits for 2. DD-Tay hits and Willow bodies Anna into the pile to break it up! Goofy chair bullshit leads to the Tay-KO...eh didn't like making Aubrey look so bad.

Gunns chat with Lexy about being the best tag team in the world and needing to make their reservations in 20 minutes. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN - IT IS I, YOUR ONE TRUE KING OF TELEVISION!" He buries Denver and then Wardlow hobbles down. Joe hits some low kicks, but runs into a Ron Simmons spinebuster and some ground and pound. 

BIG chops to Wardlow and he just eats them! Big lariat from Wardlow!  More knee work on the ropes. Feels like we'll get a corner powerbomb or a pop-up powerbomb finish here for a Wardlow win. Joe wants a superplex, but gets beaten down and swantoned! WHISPER IN THE WIND HITS FOR 2.9! CLONKING HEADBUTT TO THE CHEST and a beast lariat for 2.9! 

Corner punches INTO A POWERBOMB BY WARDLOW OUT OF THE CORNER! He wants another, but the knee goes out and he gets choked out! This was a fantastic match and Wardlow's best match yet by far. Joe stands up after choking him out in front of Wardlow and Joe takes him out! Joe gets a toolbox out that sadly lacks a donut because HE'S FAT and cuts the rat tail off. DARBY RETURNS! 

AEW Dynamite 1-14-22 - Winter is Coming MJF vs Starks for the World Title

Starks delivered a MONEY promo last week and if ever there was a time to do a quick title run for MJF, this is it. TK has licensed the NBA on NBC music for this show and it feels a bit more epic. Match 4 in the trios series starts things off hot. Elite runs wild with combos and a springboard dropkick/Demolition Decapitation! Nick tweaks his leg and Penta takes Matt out with a fear factor on the apron! Made in Penta and Penta's inverted frog splash gets 2. BLACK ARROW MISSES! Nick is back out hobbling! CUTTER BY NICK OFF A FENIX DIVE! FENIX USES THE HAMMER ON NICK'S ANKLE! KNEEBAR TO NICK and he taps! Tremendous!

Kenny calls them out for using the hammer and he wants it legal next time! In fact, LET'S MAKE ALL WEAPONS LEGAL! MJF says that pressure will turn the Pebble into dust. Sonjay's goons take out the Acclaimed mid-rap! GEETAR TO THE HEAD OF CASTER! Cage vs. Perry is up and Cage is just ungodly. "It can whip your lash!" - Taz. Jack taps him with a snare trap before calling out Big Bill and they beat him up. MASSIVE chokeslam from Bill before HOOK SAVES! 

BCC promo and Mox wants Sammy on Rampage. Swerve in Our Glory explodes on Dynamite next week. The House of Black is back and more evil than ever as they prepare to take out The Factory. Mist to nick and the Black Mass to QT ends it. THIS RULED! Shida-Hayter is hyped up for next week. Britt hypes up Hayter before Skye Blue calls her out for Rampage. 

Jericho is out to destroy Action Andretti. Corner lariats from Jericho let him get an OCHO chant AND NOT MOVE. AA BY JERICHO! "LET'S GO JOBBER!" chant. CODEBREAKER GETS 2! Split legged moonsault misses, but a giant enzuiguri hits! ARABIAN MOONSAULT HITS ON THE FLOOR! POP-UP DROPKICK BY ANDRETTI! Standing SSP WINS IT!

Tay and Ruby brawl and Ruby chucks around with Saito suplexes. Big pump kick to Ruby gets 2. Back and forth shivers lead to the BJJ toss and the Gotch piledriver gets 2.9! Destination Unknown/Abigal hits and ends it. Anna jumps her! Hangman talks about recovering from his concussion in the ambulance and getting texts and needing to unlock his phone and them telling him his son is adorable - what's his name? And he didn't know! Dustin fires up the Best Friends and Danhausen and he's hyped for a Rampage match. 

MJF and Starks start off with an intense brawl on the floor and throughout ringside. Ligerbomb hits and gets 2 for Starks. STACKED powerbomb/backbreaker from MJF gets 2.9! MJF slaps him around and Starks hits harder before a thumb to the eye by MJF. ROLLING ELBOW BY MJF BUT HE BOUNCES INTO THE ROPE AND SPEARS HIM! Double armbar by MJF!  STARKS GETS THE ROPE WITH HIS FOOT! MJF ballshots him after holding the ref as a shield and small packages him for the win. Good-ish match overall.

Danielson comes out as MJF walks to the back and chases MJF out! 

AEW Dynamite 12-7-22 - Acclaimed vs. FTR for the AEW Tag Titles

I'm finally off of work in time to catch Dynamite live and it's a rock-solid lineup across the board. MJF's attack on Regal is recapped and they say that Danielson is by his side. Dynamite diamond ring battle royal is up with Ricky Starks getting a big solo intro. The winner gets the chance to face MJF for the ring in a pseudo-eliminator match. 

Dalton sucks on Matt Hardy's belly because sure why not. OC is out and Dustin hits a destroyer on Sabian to take him out! Butcher takes out Dustin and Cage takes out Dalton and poses before getting dropkicked by Jack and sent out on the apron where he's taken out. Starks takes the Butcher out. Jack is taken out by Big Bill. MOTHER OF FUCK BILL JUST CHOKESLAMS JACK'S NECK ON THE APRON!

Page hits a high kick but gets chucked out before MJF comes out and Starks gets the title shot next week at Winter is Coming.  "I'm gonna toss your pebble ass and send you back to Billy Corgan's NWA so you can wrestle on Youtube!" ​​​​​​​Ouch. Starks calls him a third-rate Roddy Piper and buries the scarf, bacne, and "everything about you is cheap!" Cheap suit, cheap heat and Starks needed a fiery promo and goddamn, he delivered!

Starks says he slept in his car to get what he wanted in life - he's used to sacrifice and MJF is used to paying people to do the hard work for him and he's going to shut him up for once in his life! UNBELIEVABLE promo here from Starks. Holy shit - THAT is wrestling school stuff. SPEAR HITS ON MJF AFTER A CHEAPSHOT! 

Darby cuts a great promo on Joe and Joe says that he's a little dead boy and he will inflict violence on him and he enjoys violence. Mox says he likes the Cowboy and this is the sport of kings! Darby shotgun dropkicks him but he eats shit on a barrel roll tope! Atomic whip from Joe to Darby on the floor! 

Darby eats a massive post shot and he just twirls like Hennig to the floor! Atomic, boot and senton get 2 for Joe! COFFIN DROP DIVE TO JOE ON THE FLOOR HITS! Stundog and the code red get 2! ST-Joe hits out of the corner! Avalanche muscle buster but Darby bites out! Coffin splash but JOE LOCKS THE CHOKE IN! Darby passes out and Joe gets shoved after it and then JOE HEADBUTTS HIM DOWN! MUSCLE BUSTER ON THE WHEELS OF THE SKATEBOARD! JESUS!

Wardlow saves Joe from another chokeout! OC tells Kip if he wants a title shot, he just has to ask. Kip will find someone for him on Friday. Jericho says that he is now the greatest ROH Champion in history. Claudio and Wheeler face Garcia and Hager. We the People chant - the power of WWE TV is something else. Heels lock on submissiosn with the deatlock from Garcia and the ankle lock to Claudio, but the faces escape and Claudio hits UPPERCUT DEATH to Hager to win.

Moxley comes out and we get video of Tony and Regal after Full Gear. Regal says that people will only see this video if someone does something horrible to him. Regal says that MJF was going after Tony and he's mad about e-mails - now he's World champ and NOW EVERYONE IS CHASING HIM. He realized that the three main members of the BCC didn't need him and they wouldn't let him go, so he needed to show them why they don't need him and how they can teach him to be the best and you have to lead by example. He wants to teach them that they need eyes in the back of their head - he's BCC until he's dead and it's been emotional. Mox says on Saturday the JAS war ends and on Friday, he will take on anyone. 

House of Black video showcases them saying they need to put down corruption. They want everyone. Okay then. POWERSLAP HYPE VIDEO and Jamie says she'll reign over everyone. Whoever wins the TJP title match between Shida and Bunny faces Hayter for her title. Shida vs. Hayter incoming! Baddies trios match and Red Velvet's new gear is fantastic. Taz says that both Red and Blue were inspired by colors. Tremendous. Velvet Finlay batters Blue in the ring skirt. Jade and Hogan go at it and Jade RON SIMMON SPINEBUSTERS HER TO DEATH! Jaded ends it. This was fun.

FTR's mini-J Crown run for tag wrestling has been an absolute blast. "You the top guys but you about to be the bottoms!" "I think your name stands for Find the Remote!" "You're gonna lose like Herschel Walker!" Nice matwork from Bowens and Wheeler! Scissor me timbers legdrop! DOUBLE SCORPION DEATHLOCKS BY THE ACCLAIMED! Max eats a hard shot into the apron and Bowens slugs away at Dax! 

SUPERKICK AND A PK HIT HARD FOR BOWENS! Spike piledriver hits for 2.9! Spear from Max saves Bowens who discus elbows Dax for 2! Cutter gets 2 for Caster! A BILLION THINGS LEAD TO A NEAR-BIG RIG TO FTR, BUT THEY HIT FOR 2.999999999 THANKS TO A CASTER SAVE! MIC DROP ELBOW MISSES! GORI SPECIAL BOMB BY CASH! Schoolboy by Cash! HANSEN LARIAT BY CASH GETS 2.9! JACKNIFE CRADLE ENDS IT AND THE ACCLAIMED RETAINS! WOW! WHAT A MATCH! FTR scissors them to show respect. Tremendous show overall. Not wall-to-wall amazing, but still incredible. 

The Gunn Club is backstage and we'll get a double dog collar match on Final Battle against THE BRISCOES! Wow.
