WWE Survivor Series 11-30-24 - WAR GAMES

Elizabeth Irving is out to sing the Star Spangled Banner and O Canada to start the show off. The women's War Games appears to start the show off. They're using a reduced set and it makes the show look much bigger with so many crowd members visible. After damn near 20 minutes, we get the opening bell with Bayley and Nia starting off. Nia in the Eaton position as the workhorse is a choice. Bayley takes off part of her external gear to whip Nia with the leather and studs. "Nia slowing the pace down here" in THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES. Boy howdy. 

Naomi comes in to give the faces not only the advantage, BUT BRINGS A WEAPON IN TOO. Boy oh boy. Naomi hits Nia with a toilet seat and a stinkface. Candice comes in to run mild. Candice hits a lionsault on Bayley on a chair bridge. Bianca bonks folks with weapons before Tiffy comes in to bonk folks with weapons. Nia and Naomi have the worst chemistry together since oil and water. Iyo comes out and goes as far as possible to get some weapons. Iyo and Candice fight to give Iyo her annual goofy trash can spot. Tiffy and Iyo flip for a bit before Iyo hits a meteora in the corner onto Candice. Nia powerbombs Naomi onto folks. Naomi hits...what I think was supposed to be a double springboard stunner. Rhea runs wild before waiting for Liv to come out - so that almost redeems the babyface edge. 

Nia breaks up riptide and they take off her mask so Liv can hit her...in the stomach with the bat. Samoan drop from Nia gets 2 on Bayley. Iyo hits a moonsault with the trash can and Tiffy hits the swanton off the top at the same time. Well that was cute - stupid tho. Tiffy teases a cash-in with both champs down before Iyo fire extinguishes her. Nia gets powerbombed by Naomi and Bianca through a table. Oblivion to Bayley on a chair gets 2.5. Chair codebreaker by Liv to Rhea! Super Oblivion BUT NO! Avalanche riptide wins it.

Nakamura vs. Knight is up and Nakamura's theme seems like a 30 second loop from the Kazaa days. Nakamura is just going through even fewer of the motions than before. Nak kicks him and hits an avalanche inverted exploder for 2. Inverted DDT on the metal ring connector by Nak has himself land more than Knight. Kinshasa ends it with some buffering. 

Alpha Academy does a True Classic ad ending with a blurred out Otis ass. IC three-way is up. Breakker tosses them around before doing a pushup. OUTTA CONTROL BUS DIVE to the guys behind the announce table. 10 beats to Kaiser by Sheamus on the barricade before Sheamo hits Bron too. Shaileigh to the back of Sheamus by Kaiser. Rolling DVD by Kaiser hits! Sister Abigail DDT by Kaiser but a Bron spear hits and wins it. A 2.5 star version of the Mania Sheamus 3-way from a year ago.

Priest vs. Gunther is up and it's a bit slow to start until they exchange strikes and a Razor's edge hits for 2. Gunther lands a burning lariat and Priest gets a sliding lariat for 2. Priest shoves Gunther off the top and falls to the floor before saying "it's out" and Balor hits the double stomp off the steps to Priest on the floor. Balor eats a Gunther boot and a powerbomb and Danielson elbows hit before the RNC ends it. 

Men's War Games time with Tama Tonga starting it out with Jey, who comes out with his full intro. Basic brawling to start until Bronson comes in to dominate with the man advantage. Jimmy comes in for USO OFFENSE and Jacob Fatu runs in and Cole talks about Solo saving his life and career. Punk wants in but Roman blocks him and puts Sami into it with his slick red and white gear. Loa runs amok on Sami before Punk is out and stares down the new Bloodline and Punk gets a toolbox. Bulldog to Fatu on the toolbox AND HE POPS UP AND THROAT THRUSTS PUNK! 

Solo is out and he stares down Roman with Cole saying him pinning Roman made him the new Tribal Chief. Usos dive on the Tongans after Roman breaks his way into the cage over the top when Solo uses his own lock.Tsunami to Roman off the top of the cage, but Punk saves Roman to show his worth and loyalty. Double spiking by Solo to Roman gets 2 thanks to an Uso double superkick and a 1D hits. Jimmy goes to the top of the cage for an Uso dive through Jacob! Jimmy drags his brother up and says LET'S FINISH THIS SHIT! Solo squares off with the OGs! Superkicks by the Usos, Helluva by Sami, GTS BY PUNK ROMAN SPEAR ENDS IT.

Everyone slaps hands with Heyman afterwards and Punk amuses me by doing his sleepy gesture mid-ring.

AEW Dynamite 11-27-24

Well, I saw bits and pieces of the "November Rain" Full Gear highlight reel before things got all wonky on the capture device. I've got Mark Briscoe coming out - so I couldn't have missed too much. Missed Shelton's intro then - but oh well, not too bad for missing stuff. Shelton got a nice rope-bound knee on the rope before tossing Mark out and they announce Collision and Rampage for Saturday early night - which seems fitting. Middle rope flip dive by Mark before Chicken hits some redneck kung-fu! MASSIVE high and tight German by Shelton! 

Mercedes is out to demand Chicago say hello to their CEO. I like that she's turned that into a better moniker than the Boss. She's going to fire Kamille, who tells her to shuuuuuttt up because she quits. Yeah wow Kamille is a terrible promo. BIG BOOM AJ recap WITH A FILMIC INTRO! Jericho vs. Ishii is up! CHOP FOREVER starts off the match hot with Big Bill giving Tony a LEARNINIG SAPLING! Bill says that they're all 3 equals in the group. 

MORE CHOPS ON THE APRON! SLAP FOREVER mid-ring! Jericho is now the king of Memphis car show match style and HITS A DRAGON SUPLEX, but Ishii hits a rabbit lariat to counter the Judas effect! FU BY JIERICHO and the lionsault got 2! Judas Effect and Codebreaker get 1!  CODEBREAKER BY ISHII AND A  LARIAT GETS 2! GOD WHAT A MATCH! THREE TOTAL JUDAS EFFECTS END IT. THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!

Max Caster acts like a little shit and Swerve punks him out. Fantastic! GO SWERVE! Hangman is a shithead to Tony mid-ring and he WANTS THE WORLD TITLE AGAIN! Jay White wants him and PAC JUMPS HIM! AND THEN THEY JUMP HANGMAN TOO! MARINA CHOKES OUT JAY WHITE WITH THE MOTHER'S MILK CHOKE! Claudio comes out for his match against Ricochet! They battle on the floor and Claudio makes the face when you sit in Dad's Chair - you know the one.

BALD FOREVER chant breaks out. Then WHO'S BALD/ THEY'RE BALD! MASSIVE uppercut gets 2.5 for Claudio! CHARGING LARIAT ENDS IT after a battle on the floor - this was fun! Cole is out and bickers with his guys until MJF announces the diamond ring battle royale and Cole and KOR enter it. Hayter vs. Aminata is up and they had a basic match with the Hayterade ending it. Kinda awkward for a Hayter match. Mina chats with Renee about knowing that Mariah could attack her after what she did to Toni and she was prepared. Mariah busts glass over her and their match is made for Winter is Coming.

Okada vs. Garcia is made for Collision. Brody King vs. Darby is in up in the Classic and boy are these two perfect together. Brody beats the shit out of him, eats a super code red, but the gonzo bomb ends it! Claudio comes in BUT BRODY STANDS OVER DARBY! Claudio vs. Brody NEXT WEEK ON DYNAMITE!

AEW Full Gear 2024

 

Rough week - still sick, but enjoying this show as much as I can until energy gives out. We start off in-ring with Deonna vs. Anna Jay after a runthrough of the card with Paul Walter Hauser. Anna stands around for a bit after a kick near the ropes before standing around more on the apron for a kick. Straightjacket choke by Deonna before Anna gets a queen slayer sleeper, but no body lock. Taya attacks Anna on the floor with a spear and the ref tosses her out of the match after she just yells on forever.  Fujiwara by Deonna turned into a cradle for the win for Anna!

Lexy Nair chats with Billie Starkz about getting a shot in the Wrestle Dynasty Cup and Red Velvet brags to her about beating her before Legit Leyla is in and the ATHENA WORLD TOUR IS GOING ON. QT cuts a fantastic promo about being from Jersey and being glad he moved away, unlike AJ! He's going to win in front of the sold-out crowd THAT HE DREW HIMSELF! Perfect

Dante Martin vs. Buddy Matthews vs. Komander vs. Beast Mortos is up and it's all-action. Big dives on the floor capped off by a Mortos tortillo and a Komander tightrope dive! Dante gets a wacky lucha cradle on Komander for 2! Swanton hits for Komander but a Buddy curb stomp ends it! AJ vs. QT is up and hyped up nicely with Paul Wight on commentary. He can move better and THE TIMEKEEPR IS THE RIZZLER! AEW crowd with 2 kids in the match - FUCK HIM UP, AJ, FUCK HIM UP! Incredible.

Headlock by QT and THE DOUBLE CHIN STROKE BY THE RIZZLER! QT dives into the pile of his goons to have them take a flip dive instead of AJ. AJ hits a diving clothesline-ish thing off the top! Davey Boy powerslam gets 2 for AJ! Superplex by AJ! Powerboom is setup but Solo prevents it. BIG JUSTICE SPEAR TO QT! 

Mercedes complains to Kamille about Kamille and Kamille can watch from catering. "November Rain" closes things out just like it's done for Collision, Rampage, and Dynamite - because dammit, they're getting their money's worth out of it. The Kings of the Black Throne are brought out with a live theme rendition with the tag title opening it up. Outrunners get the 4:3 entrance now and the Acclaimed diss the band for HOB. 

Private Party as the champs get the PPV-only entrance to SHOTS! The End almost hits right away but it's avoided by Quen. Brody King blasts away to Turbo! Brody King is held down by everyone for the Scissor Me Timbers to the PERENIUM! The Outrunners eat a double 450 by the champs before hitting the YOU SONOFABITCH elbow! A "FUCK YOU CASTER" chant breaks out as Nigel says it's THANK YOU CASTER! Caster tells Bowens to pin him, but a swanton from Zay nixed that.

Zay with a cradle for 2. Bowens is blind-tagged out and it messes up a crucifix and the arrival and Mic Drop are interrupted mid-way. GIN AND JUICE TO CASTER ENDS IT! Lexy chats with OC and he says he'll send a message and tonight Private Party did what he'll do - win. AEW means everything to them and him. 

MJF vs. Roddy Strong is up with Roddy in black and gold again and MJF yammers on about shooting movies while his mama's shooting his daddy. Strong hits a buckle bomb and corner knee before a high back suplex for 2 and then a barricade backbreaker from Roddy. SICK KICK MISSES and MJF pops Roddy in the corner for a quick superkick. Roddy gets a cloverleaf, but MJF got to the rope. Sheer drop brainbuster by MJF hits and the Salt of the Earth armbar ends it before an arm Pillmanizer! 

The UK is out and mad at Cole for Roddy being a casualty of him. Stat vs. Mercedes is up 

AEW Dynamite 11-20-24

 

This is the first Dynamite I've been able to watch live due to a mix of bronchitis and a cold - and it's been a pretty big month. Got a new gaming rig, got a new hard drive for it and can't use it internally - so I'll pick up an enclosure. The "November Rain" video plays to hype the PPV up nicely. Yuta vs. OC is the main event and we get Daddy Magic on commentary for at least the all-star 8-man tag. I like that the moniker makes these matches feel more important. Ricochet, Hobbs, Ospreay, and Mark Davis are out - with the latter two bringing back the United Empire colors.

Fletcher, Takeshita, Archer and Cage are out for a big brawl to start and Davis chucks Takeshita around before a senton and Ospreay hits a dive. Hobbs goes out with a leg injury angle and the babyfaces are now down a man. Archer chokeslams Ricochet onto the pile on the floor for an ad break. The MONSTER ARMY launches Ospreay into a Takeshita blue thunder for a killer nearfall. Hobbs comes out in a brace and wants in! Gutwrench piledriver by Davis gets 2! Fletcher and Davis go at it briefly before a Takeshita forearm! MEAT CHOKESLAM TO HOBBS BY ARCHER! HIDDEN BLADE BUT FLETCHER PULLS DAVIS IN! RISING KNEE STRIKE ENDS IT with a Takeshita win! THIS RULED! Backstage, the Death Riders promise to end Darby and OC. Darby says that today's Claudio's day to be finished off by him.

 

The Hurt Syndicate arrives and Lashley is in an insane outfit. Cole is out and KOR tells him to stop having his friends fight his battles. Stat vs. Shida is up and Shida takes her out with a draping knee shot. Stat tombstone ends it in a good, short-ish match. Mercedes comes out and puts the Celtics over and bashes THE LOCAL SPORTS TEAM. She sends Kamille in hurt to take a beating. STATURDAY NIGHT FEVER off a backstabber attempt! 

THE ALL MIGHTY is out! DDT/Flatliner from Lshley to Cheeseburger and Joe Keys. Standing dominator to Burger hits but JOE SAVES! Flipping spear from Lashley and the Hurt Lock! 

SWERVE JUMPS LASHLEY WITH A CHAIN! HOUSE CALL HITS! SWERVE STOMP HITS! Mariah and Mina are backstage and Mariah says that she takes shit and makes it shine. Mina says she's proud of Mariah and wants to give her a celebration on Glampage. Darby is out before Claudio and the haunting Death Riders theme preamble. Claudio walks up the steps with Darby before chucking him mid-ring. Darby mid-ring dive and an avalanche gutwrench OFF THE TIPPY TOP GETS 2 FOR CLAUDIO!

Claudio pops him up for a last ride, but it's turned into a Code Red for 2! GIANT SWING ON THE FLOOR INTO THE STEPS! PRESS SLAM OFF THE ANNOUNCE TABLE THROUGH A SET OF TABLES ON THE FLOOR. Claudio is crazy and Darby's crazier! Darby's in at 9.5 but a CLAUDIO LARIAT ENDS IT!

Private Party is backstage and says they'll overcome the odds on the PPV like they did against the Bucks. Private Party meets with the Costco Guys and they remind me of why I'm a Walmart guy. MJF is on his sweet car and he says that Roddy had a hard life but Cole is a liar and a fraud. He's gonna send him back to the trailer park and he'll make Roddy suffer so much that Roddy will wish he was shot by his mother instead of his father.

Big Boom AJ cuts a cookie-based promo and they're gonna bring THE BOOM! Roddy cuts a promo on MJF that's personal and hypes the match up nicely - story-wise, it works better than Cole. Perry Collision recap and we see Perry tied up and Garcia says he's sacrificed a lot and DG says he won't go where Perry wants him to and he smashes up the headlight. 

Jericho and Ishii are backstage with Renee to sign the contract for the ROH Title match. Jericho says he's taking the contract to his lawyers and puts guys in Ishii's way and they go out and Ishii GIVES HIM A PEN to sign it. The goons attack Ishii before a JAY DRILLER TO THE BAD APPLE! SHEER DROP BRAINBUSTER TO JERICHO! ROH Title is official for Dynamite! 

Cassidy works more physically with Yuta with a body shot and then a PK! Big brainbuster gets 2 for OC and they hype up Rampage and the hype special for Full Gear afterwards. TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER HITS FOR 2 FOR YUTA! Yuta gets the mutilation on, but OC gets the ropes! OC avoids a chairshot and a tight victory roll gets the win for OC! OC goes for the kicks on Jon who ELBOWS HIM TO DEATH! We get a staredown to end things - good stuff there, but not blowaway.
