AEW Rampage 11-4-22 - Shibata vs. Orange Cassidy for the All-Atlantic Title

Shibata vs. Orange Cassidy starts the show off! Tyson is out putting both guys over and Shibata is viewed as a wrestling legend. Shibata beats the brakes off him but OC hits the forearm to the jaw and the tope! Lazy kicks to the head of OC! PK and then a series of chest kicks to Shibata! SUPERMAN FOREARM BY SHIBATA! Torture abdominal stretch or Abimle stretch by Tyson - "I've been doing this a long time!" STUNDOG! HIGH GERMAN ON SHIBATA and the Beach Break gets two! 

ORANGE PUNCH! BUT SHIBATA ABSORBS IT AND GETS LOCKED IN THE RNC! SLEEPER SUPLEX! PK BUT HTE ORANGE PUNCH HITS OFF THE IRISH WHIP AND GETS THE WIN! THIS WAS INCREDIBLE! We get a wacky '80s movie ending with them staring off in shades. Unreal! 

Toni Storm says that Britt is manipulating Jamie. Claudio and Danielson rant about wanting the ROH Title as former champs - Danielson cuts a fiery promo about it while Claudio is suave. Britt and Hayter vs. Skye Blue and Madison Rayne is up and it's short and Hayter wins with the rainmaker. Post-match ebating leads to Toni making a save. Toni takes her down and locks on the cloverleaf! Britt belts her! 

Jericho says he'll face Claudio and Danielson in a three-way because he knows they hate each other - but he's not stupid. He'll bring Sammy into it - and he knows that he'll do "the right thing" at Full Gear. Starks comes out and says he'll be in the eliminator tourney! THE GATES OF AGONY VS. WARJOE IS THE MAIN EVENT!? WHAT THE FUCK!?

Fiery babyface promo before the match, chickenshit heel stuff against Wardlow. PIP for a lot of the match. Jesus. German to Khan! Rising knee by Khan! POWERBOMB SYMPHONY AFTER THE HEADBUTT! RNC to Leone on the floor! Great staredown on the ramp to the ring to close the show out with Wardlow vs. Hobbs as the final visual.

 

AEW Dynamite 11-2-22 - Jericho ROH Champion Challenge

It's a fairly loaded TV lineup tonight with a rock-solid night of action and an ROH World Title challenge and Cage faces Joe for the ROH TV Title. Darby vs. Lethal starts things off and THE VETERAN JAY LETHAL just feels odd. Darby jumps him and wants a dive, but Singh blocks it and Lethal slugs him in the ribs off the distraction! FIGURE FOUR UNDER THE BARRICADE - I love it. Basically the same idea as the ringpost figure four, but safer.

King's Elbow misses and the RNC is locked on! A guy in a Sting coat and hoodie bat shot Darby and the Lethal Injection hits! LETHAL WINS IT! Cole Karter unmasks and JEFF JARRETT RETURNS and bonks Darby. His family's fingerprints are on AEW and he's here to leave people laying in bodybags. He messes up a bit but recovers by blaming the camera guy and we get an MJF recap. Mox says he respects Lee, but he's not quite nasty enough for the BCC. They're teachers though and he'll give him a lesson in pain tonight. We get another video of the Elite being erased - I'm leaning towards this being Cutler in-universe since he edits BTE and came back before they did. 

Mox vs. Lee Moriarty is up and Lee's got some slick green hair and Ethan Page is here on commentary. Lee goes for the BCC trapped stomps and fights up to his knees - this is a star-making match for Moriarty.  KING KONG LARIAT! Arm slicer by Lee and he eats a cutter! Pop-up knee by Lee and a back suplex hits alongside a German by Mox! Kimura into a cross armbar by Mox! BORDER CITY STRETCH/Gargano Escape is on from Lee! Harder cross armbar from Mox wins it - this ruled! 

Renee and Saraya are backstage for their interview and Britt no-shows it. DADDY ASS AND THE ACCLAIMED HAVE ARRIVED! They talk about scissoring taking over the world and get in a knock on Elon Musk for the twitter stuff. ACCLAIMED SCISSOR FINGERS! In-canon, they're made so BILLY CAN SCISSOR WITH BUSTED HANDS! They ask to be adopted and THE ASS BOYS ARE OFFENDED! Morrisey boots Billy! Britt bitches and wants a tag match with Jaymie on Rampage.

Ring of Jericho time with Ian out and THEY'RE IN BALTIMORE! HE'LL KICK ANY CHAMPION'S ASS - TV, TAG TEAM, WOMEN'S CHAMP HE'LL EVEN KICK LAVAR JACKSON'S ASS! The Ocho gimmick is amazing! COLT CABANA IS THE EX CHAMP! Ian says that Colt is back just for the ROH Title and the history of the company. 

Love this as a fuck you to Punk. Jericho is selling his ass off for Colt, who is working a serious style with a tad bit of comedy. BILLY GOAT'S CURSE IS ON! CODEBREAKER OFF AN IRISH WHIP gets it. This was fun. All-Atlantic title match time and the contract is out for the Rampage dream match. I love PAC not just always having a hammer, but wanting Fenix to cheat to win. Well, it is a triple threat match without DQ...so he's not wrong.

Luchasaurus clubs dudes and stands tall for a bit but the ORANGE PUNCH HITS HIM! JACK WEARS OUT LUCHASAURUS WITH A CHAIR AND SENDS LUCHASAURUS THROUGH A TABLE NEXT TO THE STAGE! SHIBATA COMES OUT and it's Shibata vs. OC on Rampage! Rick Ross is with Swerve and Lee doesn't support their actions. Marina vs. Jade is up and we get Nyla and Vickie on commentary. Holy God. Pump kick and Jaded end it. Joe vs. Cage is up as the main event. 

House of Black video has Julia burying Malakai and Brody and laying them to rest. Toni and Jaymie is official for the PPV and Toni talks about them being roommates in the pandemic and Toni blames Britt for everything. Cage vs. Joe is up and Cage kind of has to win this after losing 200 title matches in two years. Cage is ripped as shit and demolishes Joe before tapping to the choke. Joe is saved by Wardlow and Hobbs jumps him! 

AEW Dynamite 10-26-22 - MOX vs Penta for the AEW World Title

It's a pretty solid night of action with some great singles matches and a Mox vs. Penta main event. Jericho and Garcia are out to face Wheeler and Claudio. Hager in a goofy outfit just standing around is better than him working. Uppercuts aplenty and then Yuta comes in to a HUGE YUTA chant. Double tilt-a-whirls kinda and then machine gun elbows by the BCC. 

GIANT SPLASH BY WHEELER! Neutralizer avoided and a codebreaker hits! FLIP DIVE BY YUTA TO THE PILE! Floyd is in play, but Claudio powerbombs him! SWING TIME! WITH GARCIA ON HIS BACK! Uppercut off the top and the Neutralizer end it - Claudio pins the Ocho! Danielson is backstage with Renee and says he's frustrated with Jericho and Yuta, and he's got nothing against Sammy except for his STUPID VLOG! Yuta tells him that THEY BEAT JERICHO AND HE'S GLAD TO SEE HIM ANGRY! Claudio tells them to stop arguing.

THE ELITE DISAPPEARING IS IN-CANON with a new video. Backstage, the borg assimilates the JAS. Jericho issues an open challenge to any former ROH World Champ next week before Swerve in Our Glory is out to face FTR for the Full Gear title shot. Acclaimed are out doing SCISSOR ME but with chairs. 

MASSIVE "scissor meeeee dadddyyy!" song and chant. KEITH LEE LEAPFROGS OVER BOTH MEMBERS OF FTR AND HITS A DROPKICK before a chop battle! ROLLTHROUGH INTO A CHOP FROM DAX! Dax powerbomb into a Cash dragon suplex to Swerve gets 2, as does a combo powerbomb to Cash! SLINGSHOT LIGERBOMB by Dax! GIANT BEAR HEADBUTT BY LEE GETS 2.9 AFTER HE FALLS ON HIM! GOD WHAT A NEARFALL! 

POWERPLEX ATTEMPT leads to Taz saying it's like trying to suplex a fridge AND IT HITS FOR 2.9 with the splash hitting wonky and that being a great way around it not ending it. BIG RIG HITS AND SWERVE SAVES FOR 2.! Swerve low blow that Lee misses and the BBC hits for the win! This ruled!

MJF is out and mocks Mox. He says he's not fighting Mox - he's fighting everyone who told him he was a failure. MJF tells Stokely to not even look at Mox or he's fired - he wants him at 100%. Sammy is out with Tay before Danielson charges in and eats some shots. Sammy goes for a fancy leapfrog and gets his ankle torn up with the Romero Special. FOREARMS APLENTY from Sammy, and Bryan leans into them! DANIELSON SPECIAL! 

SAMMY HITS BRYAN'S CORNER DROPKICK AND CHEST KICK COMBO and Bryan just wants it all and SLAPS THE FUCK OUT OF HIM! LeBell lock is on, but he gets the rope. SUPER SPANISH FLY GETS 2 FOR SAMMY! BUSAIKU KNEE AND THE TRIANGLE ENDS IT! This was another top-notch match - Danielson working as an angry, cocky heel is so great. 

Fenix and Alex say that all Death Triangle members can be double champs and Christian says HIS RIGHT HAND OF DESTRUCTION WILL BE THE ALL-ATLANTIC CHAMPION. OC I think makes a triple threat for Dynamite for it. Riho and Hayter are up and have a nice stiff forearm exchange to start before Riho gets ragdolled to the mat. Hayter blocks the 619 but a Rainmaker ends it for Hayter. Best women's match on Dynamite in a while. Toni comes out and waves!

Darby vs. Lethal is up for Dynamite and Sting hasn't been around for a while and Darby talked to Sting and he wants him to strike out on his own and find his path. Nice stiff battle between Mox and Penta. Punt to the chest of Mox, arm snapper gets 2 and a zero fear gets 2. Death rider ends it! These two have fantastic chemistry together and this was as close to Impact World Champ WORLD-BEATER PENTA that we've seen in AEW.

The Firm jumps Mox with Morrisey starting things off. BCC locker room has been chained shut and they need to get bolt cutters. MJF teases a save and fires Stokely! Page slugs MJF! EGO'S EDGE! MJF eats a beating on the floor and a chokeslam through the ringside table by Morrisey! 

AEW Dynamite 10-18-22 - Title Tuesday

NXT and AEW are back to being at war for ONE WEEK ONLY and AEW has Hangman vs. Mox for the gold. MOTION GRAPHICS FOR THE MAIN EVENT and the ROH history video package hyping up Castle vs. Jericho was good. Fenix swantons Chuckie for 2. WACKY LUCHA SUBMISSION TO FENIX before Penta saves. 

Love Ex putting over Penta and Fenix for working TripleMania. Double rana attempt by OC but the LB stop him and PAC dropkicks him to the face. Wheelbarrow into a codebreaker into a double stomp into a GERMAN FOR 2! Sole Food/half and half to PAC! Triple team shoulder-mount splash gets 2 for the babyfaces. High kick by Penta to Trent and a Strong Zero gets 2.9 when Fenix saves! Inverted 619 into a Blackout and the Fenix driver ends it!

Hype vid for Mox vs. Hangman with Mox saying he's coming home after leaving with nothing and Hangman says they fought in a ladder match last year and that's it - tonight, it's his night. Britt and Hayter get in "Shida later" and say one will be the full-on women's world champ. Shida vs. Storm is up. Shida's theme is several billion levels beyond Toni's.

Nice forearms back and forth. Big Toni headbutt, but Shida gets a trio in the corner and a meteora gets 2! Disaster kick avoided by Toni and Toni Germans her. Tornado DDT attempt by Toni, but Shida catches her and almost gets a falcon arrow for 2.9! Storm Zero hits and then Britt's group hits the ring! 

SARAYA RUNS DOWN AND SLUGS BRITT DOWN! Crutch to the back of Toni and RIHO RETURNS! WarJoe challenges the Kingdom to come for either of hteir title and Joe says that they had six million ways to die, but chose the wrong ones. FTR with Renee and they say they have to be AEW World Tag champs too. Swerve says that THIS IS THEIR HOUSE and FTR has been top contenders for seven months and have been busy everywhere. Keith Lee apologizes with HOW Swerve said things, but agrees to wanting the tag title shot and they'll go at it in Norfolk. 

Marvez meets with Lethal and Darby and they fight after saying they won't and drop a door on him and Lethal puts a figure four on him. Regal is mid-ring and MJF interrupts. He says when he was training with Buck and Myers and they got him WWE extra work and it was a chance. He put his best suit and gear on and Regal greeted them. They had tryout matches and he wasn't fighting for a contract - he was fighting for his life and PRO WRESTLING IS HIS LIFE! Regal told him to follow him and took him to a room and told him he had three minutes to sell himself and he did.

He blew Regal away and he was promised a job. He wasn't going to be the ADD Jewboy - he would be a Superstar! He said he was 19 and that was it - he was too young. Regal said he didn't put his name on many, but Claudio, Moxley, and Danielson were among them but he couldn't do it for MJF until he was older and he wanted a match and promo every month. For two months, he was ignored and on month three, he sent him a promo that he saved to his phone. 

"Max, I'm a very busy man. I've got talent for months and I've had to watch you show me your acting skills. Don't reply to this, but how does this make me want to hire you? Make a name for yourself and the game has changed and WWE only hires world-class athletes. When you're one of them, maybe send me your stuff." He says that e-mail made him want to end his career and his life. BUT IF HE DID, the naysayers would win. The year is 2022 and Regal is just a sad old man who got fired! Now you're in this company like a succubus sticking yourself to talent who is better than he ever was. And in 2024, WWE would end lives to sign him. 

MJF doesn't read the e-mail to put a chip on his shoulder - but when he needs a laugh. That's all Regal is now - a joke. "I'M MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN AND I'M BETTER THAN YOU AND YOU KNOW IT!" Fuck this was money! Regal says he was 16, he left to work on a carnival and fought grown men to get into the business. He wanted to light a fire under MJF because when you're 17 and you're bleeding everywhere, and if a damn e-mail is what got him here, then you've had it easy! You mastered promos and Regal told him to practice every time you brush your tooth and make sure they notice you.

"BEFORE YOU WERE BORN, I WAS INSULTING TONY SCHIAVONE AND I NEVER TOUCHED HIM!" MJF uses a ring to knock people out and Regal didn't need knucks - HE JUST LIKED THEM. IF YOU WANT TO BE THE DEVIL, DO IT RIGHT AND BEAT EVERYONE! BE THE DEVIL AND HIT ME! Nice Dalton video - good to see they had the sense to not try to get his lone TNA match where in classic TNA fashion, they turned the best gay act in 20 years straight and had Josh bury him the whole time. Daddy Ass and the Acclaimed talk about Mark trying to take away scissoring. Title vs. TRADEMARK on Friday!

Renee meets with Bryan and Yuta and Danielson says that Garcia could be the best young talent ever. Yuta is pissed and says Mox and Claudio are on his side. Bitter Yuta is good - he needs a personality and this is one. Dalton is out looking like a MEGASTAR with a giant intro before grabbing his cock and then flipping off Jericho before stalling, runng around and hitting a big exploder.

Corner chops by Jericho but Dalton takes him down with a grounded cobra clutch and Jericho elbows him out. Walls are locked on the formerly-broken back of Dalton Castle! Lionsault but Dalton CATCHES HIM, HOLDS HIM AND HITS IT despite the bad back and gets 2.9! BANGARANG HITS FOR 2.9! Judas Effect hits and ends it. THIS RULED. Castle earned himself a job here.  ALL HONOR THE OCHO! I love this gimmick. Jericho threatens Ian and Jerry Lynn makes a save and HITS A TOMBSTONE ON THE ROH TITLE!

 

Christian Cage says that he and Luchasaurus are done with Jack and the right hand of destruction wants gold. Cool - give him the ROH TV Title and give him a run with it. Rampage and Dynamite are hyped up and it's time for Mox vs. Hangman. Backstage, Jade wants her belt and the baddies didn't get it, but Nyla will be at Rampage and Jade will take her belt back. Either she gets her belt back and she'll take the show over.

Hangman jumps Mox on his way to the ring and since he's the de facto heel in Mox's hometown, sure.  CRAZY YEEHAW MOONSAULT BLOCK by Hangman! We come back to Mox...paying homage to Lou by blading on-camera. Ex talks about how Mox worked here as a guard and now he's the World champion while Regal worries about a blood stoppage ala Ali. Cutter by Mox! And Page rolls to the corner stunned. MJF HAS LEFT HIS PERCH! Maybe to get a guard bird. DEADEYE ON THE APRON! 

STF by Mox before some back and forth forearms up top! SUPER FALLAWAY SLAM BY PAGE GETS 2! MONSTER LARIATO BY MOX! Doctor stoppage after the lariat due to the neck landing - Doc Samson ends it and Mox gets cheered. Regal comes down to talk with Mox and this was unique - not everything it could be, but great for a TV match and a fascinating finish that makes every move matter.

It feels like a work having Taz, whose career was shortened with a neck injury, talk about how big a shame this is. Taz talks about this from his experience and Mox says he hopes that Page can walk and talk again - so I kind of really hope it's a work because WOW is that a weird line.  Mox says if MJF wants to prove who he is, COME DOWN HERE! MJF is out and he's got the chip and a ref! Dynamite vs. NXT is a great night to make history like this if you're AEW.

MJF says that if you want to talk about him cutting corners, fine. He'll cash the chip in - BUT HE'LL ANNOUNCE IT. HE WANTS HIM 110%! HE WANTS NO EXCUSES! MJF VS MOX IS MADE FOR FULL GEAR. He gives Regal the chip and says for the first time in his miserable life, HE'LL EARN IT! So Regal gets his point across, but it can cost his man the title! More weird sound edits and on November 19, we'll get a great match.
