Extreme Rules 2019

We get some in-ring action at 6:20 with Nakamura vs. Balor for the IC Title, which should be about as good a match as Nakamura has now. Nakamura's black, red, and silver getup looks outstanding. Final cut hits and Finn lays him out with a flip dive, but gets crotched after an ad break. Kinshasa hits and Nakamura wins it! This was super-short, but fun while it lasted.

Nese is out to regain his title, with Gulak still looking doughy like he was at the EVOLVE show. No Catch Point robe for Gulak though. Gulak jumps him and slugs away. Nese cartwheels off the apron and Gulak takes him out with a stiff lariat off the apron which gets 2. Nese lands a 450 knees-first and gets 2. Nese goes for an Omori driver, but Gulak grabs him and nixes it. After a wacky exchange, Gulak eats a stacking powerbomb for 2. Cyclone Crash ends it and Gulak wins! Great recap video for the double title match ALMOST makes you think there's a chance the heels could win. Perfect slow-mo on the punch from Raw.

The show-opening video gets over an almost spin the wheel, make the deal stip runthrough on the show as a way to showcase all of the stips we'll see. That's a bit different, and a tad odd. Raven's caw returns for the closing shot. Shane and Drew come down to face the Graveyard Dogs to start the show off. Nice video package to start the match off, it's just placed weirldy in the show as the first 5+ minutes are all recaps. Everyone comes down until Taker walks down solo. Taker's got an old man top on - good. He should probably merge the Ministry Taker top into the leather pants look because just the black top looks a bit bland.

Match FINALLY starts at 7:18. Roman slugs Drew and Drew avoids a Samoan drop and then launches him with a belly to belly out of the corner. Shane tags in and lands some strikes in the corner before Roman rains down punches. Taker comes in and shoulder charges Shane and legdrops the arm for 2. Taker goes up for Old School, but Shane pulls him down. Best in the World versus The Best Pure Striker in the History of WWE! Taker slugs away in the corner and lands Old School. Drew tags in against Taker.

Taker and Drew exchange strikes. Drew hits a clothesline over the top, but Taker stands up! Apron legdrop from Taker! Roman comes in and slugs away at Drew leading to Taker and Shane going to the back. Drew tosses Roman around until Taker's back and we get a long arm and neck lock. Shane and Drew run into Taker's fist for a bit. Taker runs wild with the snake eyes, boot, and legdrop. Taker goes for a last ride through the announce table, but Elias jumps him with a guitar. Claymore on Roman into the timekeeper's pit.

Claymore on Taker! Announce table elbow to Taker! Taker is thrown into the ring AS A SITTING DUCK FOR SHANE according to Cole. Coast to Coast is setup Throat slash leads to the coast to coast! Shane goes for a cover, but TAKER SITS UP! Shane eats a chokeslam! Drew wants a claymore, but Roman intercepts with a spear! Roman tosses Shane in, but Taker drops him and eventually hits a tombstone to win it. Super-fun match. They need to stop trying to have Taker do things that require fast reflexes. He can still go a bit, but he can't do a lot of heavy lifting like a quick catch off of Roman throwing Shane into him. Cole talks about Taker PASSING THE TORCH to Roman at Mania. Oh fuck off. Taker bows and Cole talks about how we don't know how many matches he has left.

The Sarah Bot talks about hoping that we'll see Taker and Roman team up again and then yammers on to Seth and Becky. Revival comes down to defend the tag titles against the Usos. They're in white and blue gear that looks a bit odd. Revival's work is great, as is the Usos', but this basic WWE Formula tag match doesn't work RIGHT AFTER ONE. Scott awkwardly falls off the top back first into the ropes and then Jimmy lands a crossbody. Assalanche hits, but Wilder Ligerbombs Jimmy for 2. Scott lands a superplex into a Dash splash for 2.9. Shatter Machine hits and ends it! Wound up being a pretty good match.

Cesaro's revamped tracksuit makes the shorts look almost kinda work. Cesaro ducks the spin kick to start. METEORA off the second rope by Black. Long chinlock by Cesaro. Cesaro stomps the leg and Black crumples after an uppercut. Bicycle knee from Black to counter the springboard uppercut! Black gets a bodyscissor kneebar, but Cesaro turns it into a sharpshooter and then a crossface. Giant uppercut chain hits, but Cesaro falls to the Black Mass.

Truth yells at Alexa about Hornswoggle, and she says he's in a stall. Alexa gets Nikki one of her shirts all torn up and the Street Profits find it so CUTE. They say that they wouldn't share dinner, let alone a title. Street Profits have shockingly great Wacky Backstage Guy comedy timing - so they're kinda doomed. Nikki shows them by saying she and Alexa will become the FIRST-EVER SMACKDOWN WOMEN'S CO-CHAMPIONS. And for some reason, no one cares about titles.

Bayley gets a wacky crossface and kneebar after a few eons of nothing. Bayley hits a flying elbow and pins Nikki. This was a match - not too much to it. Braun vs. Lashley is up. Disappointed that Braun doesn't at least have a little Band-Aid on like Scott Steiner did after he was apparently murdered on the TNA PPV. Braun sends Lashley over the top. Lashley takes some crazy bumps into hte barricade for a guy in his '40s. Lots of walking and brawling. Lashley eats a suplex into a fake merch table. Lashley dives into the crowd and Braun catches him and tosses him around. Braun punches him and gets a "this is awesome" chant. Crazy stunt bump powerslam off the stands into a wacky setup leads to Braun getting up and winning.

Charly welcomes AJ and the Club, who are dickheads. New Day is out, while Heavy Machinery gets an inset promo. Rowan and Bryan are great prick heels here with Rowan landing a nice crossbody. OTIS DIVES OFF THE APRON. Smart guy. Bryan gets a diving headbutt and a LeBell lock on E. Bryan should just do a diving splash instead of the headbutt - it accomplishes 99% of the same thing and looks nearly the same. E eats some kicks and likes it. New Day gets the Midnight Hour and wins it.

Heyman grabs the mic from them and goes out and says he's Philly and he's extreme. Club jumps Ricochet, who eventually recovers with a running rana. Gorgeous diving lariat off the top. AJ lands a scoop into a scorpion deathdrop - almost like a revamp of his moonsault DDT, only it's easier to do as he ages. AJ goes for a brainbuster but eats one of his own before AJ recovers and just lands one of his own for 2. SUPER INVERTED STYLES CLASH HITS AND WINS IT! Thank God they had Ricochet do all that jobbing before...jobbing. New megastar made.

A Dolph-Owens recap airs before KO stuns him, pins him, and cuts another promo on Shane kissing his ass and going to hell. Joe says he'll ends Kofi's dream tonight. Joe starts off strong with a punch exchange, but gets sent down with a massive dropkick. Joe goes for a variety of finger snaps to get revenge on the "questionable gesture". A dueling we want Lesnar/no we don't chant hits before Kofi lands Trouble in Paradise and wins it. It's crazy that Kofi's the best-booking champion in WWE, but it's kinda cool. Still would prefer to have Joe as the champion, but he's fine as someone who's regularly in the mix too. I would ask why Lacey is dressed like a hooker from Red Dead Redemption, but I know the answer. She's got SETH written on her ass too.
Not really much going on until Becky hits the exploder on Lacey on some chairs. Tons of kendo stick shots on the heels, who then get their revenge 10 minutes later. Heels hit a double chokeslam on Seth, but he and Becky double suplex the heels on the ramp. Seth hits a high fly flow off the top to the floor through a table after Becky hits a second rope legdrop through a table. Corbin hits an end of days on Becky, so Seth beats the shit out of him with a kendo stick. Stomp hits and Seth waits for him to get up for a second one and a third ends it. BROCK COMES OUT!

Brock launches him into orbit with Germans! Brock cashes in! F5 hits and ends it - Brock's Universal Champion again!
