AEW Collision 1-5-25

Still feeling in a giant funk with everything going on with Kadie and having no responses from her beyond anger 3 weeks ago and it's driving me batty. Mom's birthday was 1/2 and it was a pretty good day - still tough, but new year's was harder. Still, every day I feel a little better than I did at the start of everything - but I still miss her every day because our bond was so strong and it felt magical. Everyone says "let go" and it's just not that easy.

SNME-style promos are back alongside Elton John! Mark Briscoe vs. Danny G is up first!  Nice back and forth slugfest on the apron. Corner punches. FROGGY BOW GETS 2.9! JAY DRILLER BY THE ROPE and that saves Danny! Danny snares a jackknife cradle off a cutthroat driver attempt and wins it! This ruled! 

Jeff Jarrett is out to face Aaron Solo and JJ is so great in the legend role. DOUBLE STROKE WINS IT - ok that's a weird one, but fun.  Ricochet's attack on Swerve is recapped. HA-A! Andretti and Rush came out as drip Gods to get a tag title match with Private Party. Cope chats with Lexy and having an issue with the Death Riders because they took out his friends before Jericho comes in and says he got hurt a lot and Cope says he's just an asshole.

Toni Storm is out to face Deonna and we get some great comedy. Storm Zero gets 2! Cradle wins it and we get a Dynamite recap and Daniels brawling with Hangman. Mortos vs. Cage vs. Komander vs. Dante Martin is up for $100K - I like this having non-title stakes with stakes. SPRINGBOARD DESTROYER TO MORTOS BY KOMANDER! Cage hits a discus lariat and Weapon X on Dante and wins it. 

FTR MEETS WITH THE ROCK 'N ROLL EXPRESS AS DO THE OUTRUNNERS AND THEY WANT THEIR GAS MONEY FROM  MEMPHIS! Fun trios tag main with a powerplex with a Cope flying elbow getting 2. Dax brainbuster to Jericho gets 2! Dax sharpshooters Keith and Jericho locks Cash up in the Walls for a slap exchange! Apron spear from Cope hits Bill and a Cope crossbody on the floor on Bill from the top! Shatter Machine and a Cope spear win it!

Cope cuts a promo but the Death Riders have tied up the RNR Express and THEY BEAT UP THE OUTRUNNERS! 

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19

 

THE RANBO BEGINS at 2AM and Great O-Khan starts off with Josh Barnett and MUSIC RIGHTS HAVE BEEN ALTERED. Boltin Oleg is out and does some nice matwork with Barnett. Hirooki Goto is out and then YUJI NAGATA! BARNETT AND YUJI! Boltin and Barnett work well together and they eliminate each other before Makabe is out! 

KENTA time and he boots out Nagata before YOSHI-HASHI is out. Yujiro Takahashi is out and he doesn't have PIETER and looks 50...so yeah... YANO ELIMINATES HIM! Tenzan is out and he is skinny before Kojima THE MLW WORLD CHAMPION is here! TENZAN ACCIDENTALLY LARIATS KOJIMA DUE TO YANO AND A CRADLE ENDS HIM IN THE MATCH! Honma. Jesus Christ CAN WE GET SOME YOUNG BLOOD IN THIS!? SANADA - Jesus. Went from WK in the main event to the ranbo. Fuck. 

Well this feels like a win for him given the field. Taichi is out and brawls with Sanada on the floor. ISHII and he headbutts Honma! BRAINBUSTER TAKES OUT HONMA! Alex Zayne is the last guy out and SANADA IS BOOTED OUT BY TAICHI! Yano goes for a buckle pad shot BUT HE GETS SENT OVER! O-Khan and Ishii slug it out before O-Khan chops Ishii off the apron. Zayne fights him off the apron and Zayne is taken out by O-Khan. Goto and O-Khan close it out REVERSE GTR HITS AND O-KHAN IS SENT OUT but he saves himself before GOTO WINS IT. Okay then well that's a thing to do - at least his theme is Dome-worthy.

AEW Dynamite 1-1-25 - Fight for the Fallen MAX Debut

MAX debut time and we have a NEW THEME SONG "I'm so EXCITED" and Max's VQ is killer. OC vs. Hangman starts things off. Post-PPV promo features Mox hyping up the Death Riders and Marina taking a bullet for the team. Rated FTR says it's time to fight for the fallen! Dead Eye and Beach Break are avoided before some floor brawling and a powerbomb attempt by Hangman is met with a backdrop on the floor and OC hits some corner barricade punches!

OC rolls out and Hangman boots his jaw but OC hits a tope! Diving DDT and a satellite DDT hit for 2! Beach Break got 2.5! Three Orange Punches hit, but the fourth leads right into a buckshot to win it for the hangman! DEADEYE AFTER THE BELL! AND A SECOND! CD comes out and gets slugged by Page! Switchblade says he HAD THE WIN, but Yuta cost him! He'll make him pay and he still has a path to Mox at Maximum Carnage thanks to the Casino battle royal next week. 

Acclaimed is out to face the Hurt Syndicate and we get a PIP rap from Caster before Bowens gets pissed. Lashley and Benjamin are killer int his black and gold getup. MVP joins the commentator team while Lashley runs wild on Caster and the Syndicate wins it.  Hayter is out to face Julia Hart and Julia avoids a tieup. Hiptoss neckbreaker combo to Hart off an irish whip! Hayte breaker/irish curse hits and she kicks the bad shoulder. Hayter avoids a moonsault and a standing STO gets 2 for Hayter. HARTLESS! Hayter turned it into a lariat for 2. They go up for a superplex but Jamie gets tripped up and Julia has an arrow and it's a distraction for the mist to win it!

Fletcher/Ospreay history video before a video of Okada's C2 winning OFFICIALLY making him the greatest tournament wrestler ever and then an Omega hype video. The CEO is out for a double title celebration before likely losing the Strong Title to Mina Shirakawa on 1/5. She introduces YET ANOTHER VIDEO PACKAGE - but this one goes through all of her domination since debuting in AEW and while Mina wants her Strong Title, the CEO wants the RevPro title! We see them deconstruct the little setup in the ring which is...I think a little odd but also cool and Dax presents a check to the World Central Kitchen. 

The Undisputed Kingdom says this will be their year. Trios, tags, and singles matches are on the docket! Switchblade vs. Roddy vs. Swerve is up and A GIANT running swerve stomp hits to Roddy, but he avoids a house call and a bladerunner wins it after Ricochet blasts Swerve with scissors! SCISSOR GRIND INTO THE SKULL! Ricochet beats the shit out of Nana with a chair! SEATED SPIRIT GUN - okay that needs a better name. 

Jeff and Karen says they're unbreakable and he brings his boots out. Mariah May says the division is GREAT - why - BECAUSE OF HER! "You want the chance to breathe again? you have to work for it!" All righty now! Jeff's out and says it's a SLAPPY NEW YEAR and it's time to get down to business and he's been trying to put words together. He says that things end and for the Jarretts, it began in 1946 when his grandmother decided to sell wrestling tickets and it changed the whole family's lives forever. She turned that into high-risk and high-reward decisions and became the CFO of Tennessee. He promoted schools in high school and wrestled. In 1986, he got into the industry and became a wrestler against his mother's wishes and dropped out of college. 

In 2002, he started TNA and it's produced some of the best of all-time and he has to wonder if the Last Outlaw should ride into the sunset. AND THE ANSWER IS HELL NO BECAUSE HE HAS TAKEN THE BIGGEST RISK OF YOUR LIFE AND IT'S THE BIGGEST REWARD and he's going to signed his very last wrestling talent with AEW! THE LAST OUTLAW WANTS ONE MORE RIDE! AND HE'S COMING FOR THE WORLD TITLE IN THE GAUNTLET! THE LAST OUTLAW WANTS THE WORLD TITLE!

Hobbs kills Rob Killjoy and Jon Cruz. Rated FTR is insulted backstage by the Learning Tree and they'll face off on Collision. Death Riders are out first with Rated FTR and Cope out last.  Yuta acts like a smug shit to Dax in the corner. Cope and Claudio are mid-ring and get some matwork in before Cash and Yuta do some cool powerslams and backslides. Mox and Cope brawl in the crowd before Cope eats the post. Jay White takes out Yuta and a Cope backdrop through the table! SPEAR T HROUGH TBE BARRICADE TO MOX! Claudio uppercut to Cope! SHATTER MACHINE TO YUTA AND A SPEAR END IT! Rated FTR wins it! Exciting show and it looks gorgeous on Max!
