AEW Collision 10-21-23 and Battle of the Belts

We're starting off with the dream match of Danielson vs. Andrade and his new mask is a killer. Bryan outworks him on the mat and Andrade gives him his props. Gorgeous long collar and elbow tieup too. God, this is such a great technical battle. Danielson's backflip counter works until he eats a big flying forearm. Split-legged moonsault gets 2 for Idolo!

Danielson goes for the kneeling kicks, but eats a pair of dragon screw legwhips! Figure 4/8 attempt into the LeBell Lock leads to the ropes for Idolo. Corner backstabber into the basement knees by Andrade! They go back and forth on cradles and Danielson wins in 20 minutes. Fantastic match! The lights go out and MALAKAI TAKES OUT DANIELSON WITH THE END!

They hype up Sting's gift from TK and Nigel hopes it isn't Robocop again before Skye Blue beats the shit out of Hollyhood Haley and beats her quickly. Hollyhood would be getting "she's a crack whore" chants in ECW with her look.

The Gunn Clubb faces THE OUTRUNNERS! Gunns win quickly with 3:10 to Yuma. THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND IT'S THE DEVIL MASK! Lexy interviews OC and Kris does reps with her. Jarrett vs. Kingston with DAVE BROWN ON COMMENTARY IS HERE! Tons of brawling here before a WHOOP THAT TRICK chant. Lethal sends Kingston through a table near the ramp. Every TNA hardcore match ever breaks out until Singh hits a chokeslam, JJ hits a stroke and the Lethal Injection hits for the win.

CJ's out for the Miro-Andretti match with a big intro. Miro tosses him around ringside and CJ claps for Andretti in theory. Brief hope spot off a DDT, but Game Over ends it. Ruby faces Shida on Dynamite. Kingston cuts a shockingly great promo even by his standards on loving Jay Lethal and his family, but being disappointed because he's gonna have to beat Jay's ass in front of his mother and his mother will cry knowing he deserves the beating.

FTR squash but the HOB beats them up. Battle of the Belts is hyped up. Starks and Bill face Claudio and Yuta next. Claudio runs a-fuckin-muck with lariats, uppercuts Old School and MORE UPPERCUTS! Big powerbomb gets 2 on Yuta before the SWING TIME AND DROPKICK HITS! HOB runs in and a spear and roshambo ends it for Starks! Danielson gets beaten down and FTR does too before MOX RETURNS! And another WHOOP THAT TRICK chant! Strarks comes in and eats a parade of finishers when the HOB leaves him high and dry. Claudio swinging Starks to "Wild Thing" is surreal - this was a great night for him.

A brief break has the BCC leave before OC comes out and gets slapped around by Mox. Recap of OC vs Silver in the past, which is good because I have zero memory of that. Silver dominates on the floor for a bit. OC recovers and runs wild with kneeling kicks to the thick pecs! Silver gets the airplane spin drop, but it only gets 2 and the Orange Punch ends it! Lexy chats with Andrade and says nothing until CJ interrupts him. Mark Sterling chats about how stupid Memphians are before hyping up Tony Nese. Nese calls for some GROUP TRAINING and Joe is like nah dude. Joe massacres him in a minute and wins with a muscle buster. Joe tells MJF is that he's giving him the gift of foresight because he's coming for the gold.

Kris and Willow have a fun match for the TBS Title - a bit of a babyface vs. babyface, but with Kris working character heel. Kris eats a corner charge, but rebounds with a somersault senton. AVALANCHE AA BY WILLOW GETS 2.9! CHOKE BY WILLOW!? Corner bomb by Kris and the 450 HITS FOR THE WIN! Kris wants a handshake and Skye runs out and says no. Willow shakes and Skye is out with a BITE ME shirt.

OC AND OKADA FACE DANIELSON AND CLAUDIO ON DYNAMITE! Trios tag title match sees the faces scissor Grizz. Garcia dances and undoes their good luck and loses.

AEW Rampage 10-20-23 Mistico vs. Rocky Romero

They've worked hard to make Mistico vs. Romero feel pretty epic and are even playing The Accountant before the show! Romero looks so great with his star getup while Mistico is incredible even without "Ameno". Excalibur hypes up the CMLL deal with the Broncos, which is surreal. Mistico gets the first fall with a WACKY LUCHA SUBMISSION!

Rocky works on the mask and Mistico avoids more damage there before doing a ropewalk skytwister armdrag. Apron elbows! SNAP SUPLEX ON THE APRON BY ROCKY! Rocky Romero gets the camel clutch, but the sliced bread gets a fall for him. This has been a very quick match and benefits from being on an hour-long show where it can really shine on its own.

Mistico lands a double-jump crossbody on the floor! Gorgeous springboard crossbody from Mistico gets 2! Powerslam hits for 2 for Mistico before he runs up for an avalanche German, leading to an avalanche sliced bread for 2.9! SPANISH FLY BY MISTICO! Mistico gets the destroyer and he wins with the la mistica and it's TO THE BACK for stoke! Lethal demands a shot and Stoke says it will be Jarrett vs. Kingston for Jay to get a shot at the ROH Title. Kingston warns Jay about bringing up Homicide's name and he talks about the history of Memphis wrestling.

John Silver, Kip Sabian and BROTHER ZAY are here for a three-way to determine a challenger for OC tomorrow. Zay dives onto Silver and high-fives a fan and it's brilliant - you create a moment the fan remembers forever, get Zay more into being a babyface and it's free. Zay lands a kick on Kip and an Asai moonsault on Silver. Zay wants a twist, but gets run into a corner lariat. Kip gets pressed by Silver into Zay's crotch. Silver bridging Germans Kip for 2. Kip lands an Arabian moonsault before Zay dives out and takes out the pile. SWANTON TO KIP BY ZAY GETS 2! Massive kick by Silver takes out Zay and he wins it!

Santana and Ortiz hype video airs and recaps their feud and they're settling it in Philly in Rampage. Claudio and Yuta get a tuneup match before they vie for the tag titles on Collision. THE BOUNTY HUNTER BRYAN KETIH and Exodus Prime are their victims. Yuta starts off strong with a German. NARUTO RUN UPPERCUT FROM CLAUDIO leads to the fastball special and the win.

Backstage, Renee meets with Not the JAS and Daddy Magic's shiny '84 Memphis jacket is great as is Jake being upset over THE HAT more than anything else. Skye Blue vs. Ruby Soho is the main event that somehow hasn't been mentioned once. Nice work with Skye eating chops and WANTING MORE! Saraya eats a knee so Ruby can PK Skye on the apron.

Skye Blue busting out a fish hook while dressed as the Mystery Machine is great. Skye lands a nice snap swinging neckbreaker for 2. Saraya grabs the leg and Skye eats a Saito suplex for 2. MASSIVE chop up top by Ruby! Skye gets an apron bomb for 2. No Future hits for 2. Saraya hits her with the can twice and a schoolgirl ends it! Really good match that shows off why Ruby should have a job everywhere - everyone looks good with her. Kris runs down for a save. Skye dressed like the Mystery Machine and Kris Statlander going with some Kim Possible vibes

AEW Dynamite 10-18-23 - Rated R Rebuttal and Sting's Announcement

Sting has an announcement, Copeland responds to Christian Cage and Toni Storm has a new movie! Penta vs. Jay White is out first and Penta has his anti-Venom gear on! Floor dive takes out the goons and CARDBLADE IS SAFE. Pop-up backstabber in the corner gets 2 for Penta. We get some vintage AEW Dark Taz banter with Tony and Jay DDTs Penta on the apron before a gun show for the LULZ.

Penta takes the glove off and CHOPS THE HELL OUT OF SWITCHBLADE! Back and forth! They go back and forth with chops and Tony and Taz go back and forth with Texas cities. Uranage gets 2 for Jay and a brainbuster gets 2.5. SLEEPER SUPLEX BY JAY and Penta lands Made in Japan for 2.5! GOD WHAT A MATCH!  Left hand of God by Juice and the Bladerunner ends it. This was a fantastic TV match. Jay gets both a BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD sign and a BOO THIS MAN sign before cutting a promo on MJF as J-A-Y! General Juice Wackiness about the ring and the Gunns have two words for ya - GUNNS UP!

MJF is with Renee backstage and he says that Jay White reminds him of the marks at Comic Cons cosplaying as World Champ. The Acclaimed comes in and Caster offers their help to Max later. Max of course shows too much love and ruins it. Shida-Sakura video airs before Shida eats some offense and lands a rana onto the apron on the floor. Tiger Driver by Sakura gets 2. Katana is blocked and a la majistrol gets 2.9! Tilt a whirl backbreaker from Emi leads to a Fujiwara armbar from Shida and the falcon arrow gets 2.9! Katana ends it!

Renee chats with Copeland for the Rated R Rebuttal. He talks about Jay not wanting to come to school and then sending him to get Jay and they loved wrestling. He talks about writing in to an essay contest and won free wrestling training because he wrote in and Jay didn't. He got Jay his WWE gig early on and you don't do that early on. It's always been Adam and Jay or E and C and it's not his fault or design. Copeland says he won't fight Jay. Okay, so we get a replay of Bret vs. Owen with Copeland HAVING to fight his brother down the line.

Wardlow has a 20 minute time limit and won't need much of it. Last Ride ends it via ref stoppage. He shows off his wrist tape showing MJF and shoves Tony down. Kenny hypes up Kyle Fletcher and says he's the measuring stick of AEW and they're match is coming up. It's starting with Fletcher and it will go onto the Family and maybe the World Title. MJF says 13 days, bitch to Omega in reference to him beating Omega's record.

Cole gives Roddy HOT COFFEE and he hates it but he could go for some PB and J! BUT HE KEEPS THE CRUSTS ON and dammit, Cole has had enough! Tony brings out Don Callis and we get a recap of Hobbs-Jericho. Hobbs talks about having a chance to meet Jericho and Jericho told him to sit his ass down. He gave him spinebuster after spinebuster and goddamn, he loved it! Callis calls Fletcher a scab who screwed the Family! Callis tells him if he beats Fletcher tonight, they can talk next week.

Callis hypes up Hobbs as the most violent man in AEW and Taz vouches for that. Fletcher and Omega chop each other quickly to start. Orihara moonsault to Fletcher! Fletcher lawndarts Kenny into the second rope! Michinoku driver gets 2.9! Fletcher sets up a back-facing calf kick to the neck in the ropes and lands it! Poison rana to Fletcher and the powerbomb hits for the V trigger! Only 2.9! Omega wants the OWA but FLETCHER GETS THE DRAGON SLEEPER AND BODY SCISSOR! Ripcord V trigger is avoided, but the snapdragon lands! MASSIVE RUNNING V TRIGGER BY KENNY! ONE WINGED ANGEL ENDS IT! A bit of a modern Bret-Waltman.

Lance Archer is "kicking his opponent down to the ring" and chokeslams him on the apron! Corner chargers and a RUN-UP KNEE STRIKE BY ARCHER before the inverted razor's edge ends it. THIS RULED! Swerve's video is hyped up for Friday and Nana says this is a big win for Swerve, but Swerve's not happy because he's not TNT Champion. Swerve says it won't always be Hangman that pays for his actions - kinda setting up a split here.

Tony is here to introduce STING on TBS again just like he did in 1987. Sting's out and does one more AOOOOHHH and he says the wooing always shocked him. He wants to say the word - but he wants to reflect first about all the years with Luger and the Steiners. They looked at the guys who shaped the road for them like Dusty and no one had more charisma than him. Hogan, whose name gets boos and he learned stuff from him. And he loves Flair because Ric made him. He talks about the word and gets a you still got it chant.

He says he retired before, but the 2015 one didn't sit well with him. And there was a key that he said in his speech is that nothing's for sure. He wants to talk about that word again here in Texas and on TBS and his first match in AEW was Revolution 2021 and his last match will be Revolution 2024. JR, Nick Wayne, and Nick Wayne's Mom are in an echo chamber and Nick says that Christian's a better father figure than his father was. They leave her and Darby beats their asses backstage.Darby beats up Nick on the ramp before Luchasaurus takes him down. Sting goes down and takes out Luchasaurus. He saves Cage from a death lock!

Best Friends and OC and Hook are backstage and OC says he loves having this belt again. Saturday, he's got something to prove. Dynamite battle royal time and Johnny takes out Sydal. Jeff does the Daniel Garcai dance and his little dance too. Poetry in Motion and Jeff's moving good here. MJF offers Dustin a few hundred to take out Juice! SHATTERED DREAMS! Battle royals are tough to make a compelling match - let alone on TV, and having Dustin's story throughout it helps.

CANADIAN DESTROYER BY DUSTIN! Dustin takes out Daddy Magic and then Garcia takes out Dustin. Max takes out Juice! Caster tosses him off the top and hits the mic drop! Jay and MJF brawl on the stage. MAX TAKES HIS BELT and Jay ballshots him! LEFT HAND OF GOD PUNCH hits and JUICE WINS IT!

AEW Collision 10-14-23 - Danielson vs. Christian for the TNT Title

This is a low-key really captivating result because Danielson has yet to hold gold in his whole AEW run and this feels like about the top level of title he would allow himself to hold - but Christian is just getting started on his run while also feeling like he's had the belt for longer due to the Luchasaurus run. I love how killer the intro is and WE'VE GOT TONY ON COMMENTARY! We got some weirdness with the feed being truncated in the window. Adam calls out Christian and Christian comes out with a goon squad headed up by KM (Kevin Matthews).

Danielson says that the goons are banned and then Bill and Starks come out. Then they hide behind the goons AND THEN FTR COME SOUT TOO. Jesus this parade of guys promo formula is done. Danielon LeBell locks a goon. MJF Stand Up to Jewish Hate video leads to Willie Mack vs. Joe for the ROH TV Title. Great back and forth action with Mack getting a hot two off a stunner, but going up for the six-star frog splash and getting stopped before a muscle buster finish. CJ Perry says she's here to guide folks and make champions and stars. Action Andretti offers himself up to sacrifice to Miro.

Juice vs. Daniels is up - YAY DANIELS ON TV! Daniels has done a great job of taking himself largely off TV as an office guy and gets some brief shine with a DVD and flatliner before letting The Juice Loose with the freefall DDT and the win.  Jay gives him his own Dynamite Diamond and THE LEFT HAND OF GOD HITS! Dustin hypes up the battle royal and says he's winning that, winning the ring and winning the AEW World Title. Kyle Fletcher faces Boulder of the Iron Savages and beats him with a dropkick to the ropes and a dragon sleeper. Skye Blue against Kris Statlander with Skye as a bit heelish. Good back and forth action before Saturday Night Fever ends it. Willow comes out and Kyle Fletcher wants promo time and sends love to Mark Davis. He wants KENNY OMEGA in a singles match! Keith Lee demolishes Turbo Floyd! Miro massacres Andretti backstage.

Danielson vs. Cage is up with a headscissor to start things off. Bryan runs wild and hits his big comeback. Kneeling kicks send Christian to the outside and the tope suicida hits! Busaiku misses and the Killswitch hits for 2.9! Busaiku hits and IT GETS 2.9! THE LEBELL LOCK IS ON! HE GETS THE ROPES AND IT'S ON AGAIN BUT NO, Cage blocks the arm with the bad arm and Big Bill KOs Danielson with the tag title! Now THAT elevates the TNT Title to a degree. FTR makes the save for Bryan with Adam and Nick Wayne is trapped and Copeland spears him.

AEW Dynamite 10-4-23 - Dynamite Fourth Anniversary Show

All right - been dealing with Xbox-related internet issues, but I got it sorted out 9 minutes in with Fenix doing a run-up armdrag to the floor! Fenix runs up and slips to eat a superkick and backstabber. A Nick corner bulldog countered by Fenix into a gamenguri! Nick hits a superkick after they double-down after a superkick and Fenix hits a rolling snap rana for 2.9!

SLINGSHOT SPIKE X-FACTOR BY NICK GETS 2.9! LET'S GO NICK/LET'S GO FENIX! Hand-held high kick by Nick! POISON RANA BY NICK into a hoist-up by Fenix into THEN A DESTROYER OFF THE ROPES BY NICK! PK KNEE BY NICK GETS 2.9! ROPERUN PK BY FENIX! Frog splash gets 2.9! Fenix driver gets countered into a victory roll that gets countered into a deep cradle and Fenix wins it! GOOD GOD!

We get a Cole-Strong video that is beyond echoey. WHO THE FUCK IS GRIFF GARRISON is mid-ring and gets murdered by a returning Wardlow. Wardlow is not in the wedgie singlet - good But the shorter singlet shows off the gut a bit. Ref stoppage after five powerbombs. Backstage, Don Callis says that Sammy isn't medically cleared and he has eager, able-bodied male athletes who want to show off and Ospreay has chosen in Kyle Fletcher. Ex talks about the audio issues with the Cole segment from TBS so they re-air the video. Okay, Roddy yelling ADDAAAAMMMMMM is great. HE GETS HIM A BIKE SCOOTER! AND THEY WANT HIM TO MOVE FURNITURE!

Butcher, Blade and Sabian against Acclaimed is up. Break and Bowens tags in and runs wild on everyone. Acclaimed win it and we get Mox vs. Fenix 3 next week for the title. THE FINAL PORTRAIT OF A STAR features Toni saying she's not hurt by age - SHE'S TIMELESSS! Danielson vs. ZSJ recap leads to one for Swerve vs. Hangman getting a recap too. Swerve vs. Danielson is set up for next week to see who faces Christian for the TNT Title!

BC Gold is out with a new BANG BANG GANG tron. They say that MJF can't breathe with the Switchblade and MJF calls Juice a taint. Things just kind of go on and on and on. MJF says he wants a Stockston street fight with them thank God. Jay White jumps him with a Bladerunner. He challenges him to Full Gear after stealing the gold.

Fletcher is out with Takeshita to face Omega and Jericho. Nice chop battle between Jericho and Fletcher, who benefits a lot from these high-profile matches. Killer brainbuster by Fletcher to Omega - that would be a killer singles match. Shocking I know, but Omega and Fletcher are fantastic together. I wouldn't be against Fletcher winning the International Title and facing Omega down the road. "THE KID SCREWED ME!" from Callis - okay that's a shame. HOBBS JUMPS THE FACES! The Book of Hobbs keeps the Biblical references alive for the Family.  They brawl forever, tie him up to the ropes for a Jesus chairshot ala Dreamer-Raven and Jericho saves as much as he can. DON WANTS THE CHAIRSHOT!

Excalibur, who retired due to concerns about concussions, talks about hoping to never see a chairshot to the head again. Renee meets with Max and then Caster and the Acclaimed come in and he's angry at them...for...maybe tweets or something. Okay that was weird. Max calls Cole but he gets voicemail. A killer Joe video airs with him saying he's a champion and knows when to be hungry and when to be satisfied.

Toni vs. Skye Blue was great in DC and better now with this Timeless act. Toni promises TITTY SLAPS before the ad break and chops her outside. Storm Zero into a victory roll gets 2. Superkick by Blue gets 2. She calls for her closeup and hits a hip attack and Storm Zero before being all wacky rolling out.

Tony is mid-ring and Adam Copeland comes out with his EDGERATEDR Twitter handle because hey, WWE wants the gimmick name in the Twitter handle and by golly, that takes time to change. He says there's a whole fresh lineup of matches for Adam Copeland and he doesn't like talking about himself in the first person - he won't do that again but wants Mox, Omega, Miro, Hobbs, White, Robinson,

Adam says that he loves Jay and he's the reason he came here. I love Adam bringing up Jay loving Sting so much that he wanted his haircut. Adam talks about Beth's grandparents not knowing English because they're Polish - and they loved Sting. He is here because he loves Jay and it's time. For the first time in over 20 years, it's time for them to team up. I like that in-canon, Adam has the shittiest timing possible for this request because Christian IS A SINGLES CHAMPION. They hug and Jay tells him to go fuck himself. Nick Wayne's out in a super '90s sweater and this all ruled.
