WWE SummerSlam 2022

The first match show in the HHH era is here and it starts off hot with Bianca vs. Becky. The hype video is top-tier stuff  The stage is really low-key - almost like UFC but with a tron. Goofy outfit on Becky while the home state girl Bianca is out looking like THE star of stars. Nice matwork sets up some stiff strikes. Draping legdrop turned into a powerbomb by Bianca. Schoolgirl off the Disarmher gets 2. Spanish Fly and the KOD ends it! Becky and Bianca hug and then Bayley returns! Dakota Kai returns on the main roster too! And Io Shirai! Corey calls her "Io Sky", which is honestly not the worst name ever. 

Becky stares down the new group WITH BIANCA! The heels run away as they should and the new babyface team stands tall. Logan Paul vs. Miz is up and Miz is out in garish neon green alongside Maryse and Ciampa. Logan is fantastic at matwork with things like a fireman's carry and a gorgeous blockbuster that Miz turns into a suplex. MASSIVE LARIAT and a powerslam gets 2 for Paul. Chopblock by Paul leads to a figure four tease and it's on!

Miz is sent THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE WITH A FROG SPLASH OFF THE TOP! Crazy stuff - he's an unreal athlete. Miz gets the chain-clad Polaroid thanks a Maryse and her thong distraction, but Paul GETS THE SKULL CRUSHING FINALE AND WINS IT. This was Miz's best match in ages.

Theory vs. Lashley is up and Lashley gets jumped by the case, which gives Theory a brief edge until a press slam into the Hurt Lock ends it. They set up that the first half of his prophecy didn't come true, but that the WWE Title match is still on tap for him to cash in. Judgment Day vs. Mysterios is up and JD having Edge's heel theme is so odd still. They hype up Dom debuting at Summerslam in 2020, which seems insane. They hype up Rey and his Victoria sponsorship.

Faces run wild and Priest SLOWS IT DOWN with a long chinlock to Dom. Rey comes in and hits the seated senton and basement dropkick. Rhea prevents the double 619 and bonks Dom into the apron before South of Heaven hits and Balor wants a chair. BROOD EDGE IS BACK! Edge hits a spear on both the heels and Rey hits a 619 on Priest to win with the splash. 

Corbin vs. McAfee is up WITH A CHOIR singing BUMASS CORBIN. Superkick to start to Corbin! SWINGING RANA LEAPING OFF THE TOP by Pat. Pat goes for a superplex and gets shoved off into a backflip, but he poses and eats a shotgun dropkick. Hop-up superplex goes a bit wonky with Pat landing on his knees on the buckle, but he gets up right away and hits it! Sunset flip off the top ends it. 

Drew vs. Sheamus recap leads to Drew getting a big wacky intro. Tag title match is up and Jeff gets a partial intro. Street Profits come out with a giant Titans intro. Cole brings up Jarrett having a big weekend without bringing up Flair's Last Match. Running blockbuster gets 2 for Tez. Flip dive from Angelo, who is working without a shirt. Big pounce and back suplex gets 2. Double splash to Dawkins but Tez breaks it up! Near superkick to Jeff, who shoves him into a Sky High and a frog splash gets 2.9! Tez is pissed at Jeff and says he can't count to three in Nashville before eating a...sorta double superkick on a dive attempt. 1D hits and ends it. Wow, that's it? Jeff HAS A REASON to attack the Profits and doesn't? Okay, it's not bad to have a clean finish, but that's flat. 

Kid Rock's "Shakedown" is hyped and he makes out with a blonde hefty bag before Riddle comes out and Rollins dressed like a creamcicle hits another Stomp while fans chant his theme. Liv vs. Ronda is up and Ronda looks so goofy with the eye makeup. Killer skimpy gear on Liv, who gets chucked around before Liv gets a Rings of Saturn!

Crucifix bomb hits for 2 for Liv! RONDA GETS THE ARMBAR, but Liv gets the rope barely! Ronda gets another armbar and Ronda's shoulders are down and Ronda beats herself. Well this really got Liv under. Ronda beats up Liv, the ref and BOWS UP TO JAMIE NOBLE, BOY!

Mayor Kane bullshits the attendance to over 48,000 and sets off pyro. Roman vs. Brock is set up as THE rivalry of the last seven years. Roman's out and Brock comes out and then PUTS A FLANNEL  ON TO GET ON HIS TRACTOR! BROCK ON HIS TRACTOR says he's a big-ass country boy who is 285 pounds and is here to kick ass ON HIS TRACTOR! Brock is in his mid-'40s and jumps off the tractor's front loader before suplexing Roman off the steps. 

They fight near the truss and Brock chucks him into it. GERMAN ON THE FLOOR to Roman. Heyman distracts and a Samoan drop through a table busts Brock's back up. A pair of Superman punches land. Brock sidesteps a spear and he hits a table on the way down. Brock moves the tractor and lowers the front loader to do shit. Brock grabs a piece of a table and just thumps him with it. Brock LOADS ROMAN INTO IT and dumps him...basically at the top rope. 

Tons of Germans get an 8 count. F5 HITS!  Reigns goes for the guillotine choke, but Brock chokes him out with one for a nine count with the ref begging him to stop and a fan yelling to END THE FUCKIN MATCH! Brock gets the tractor and LIFTS THE GODDAMN RING according to Cole and Roman gets tossed out for 9. Usos come out and they get suplexed! 

 

Heyman gives Brock the belts and says HE IS THE CHAMPION before eating an F5 through the table and Roman spears Brock! Theory runs down and hits Roman with the case, but Brock F5s him! DOUBLE SUPERKICK TO BROCK! Spear onto both belts! BROCK IS UP AT 9.5! Roman beats up Theory and Brock with the case. BROCK GETS UP AT 9.9! WWE TITLE SHOT TO BROCK and Cole now wants a faster count. 9.99999! They all put the announce table and steps and all the plunder on Brock and Roman FINALLY wins.

This was the damndest last man standing match ever - not the best as a match, but the best in WWE history. 

AEW Dynamite 7-27-22 - Fight for the Fallen

Last week's show was a bit iffy, but this one has the return of Danielson against Daniel Garcia and that seems IMPOSSIBLE to screw up. Ditto RUSH vs. Moxley for the interim title - and THAT'S OUR OPENER! Quick start with a cheapshot to the floor and a pair of Stinger splashes to Mox. He splits Moxley open and rubs Mox's blood on his chest. Mox headbutts the cheek to rock him. Back and forth chops leads to a Rush powerslam for 2. Mox recovers during the break and gets a superplex after the break for 2.

Discus forearm by RUSH leads to a king kong lariat by Mox! Snap German by RUSH! Mox gets crotched by Andrade and the Lucha Bros come out to counteract for a 2 on Mox. HORNS IN THE CORNER met with a lariat! STRAIGHTJACKET PILEDRIVER GETS 2.9! Regal talks about training how to avoid a serious neck injury on a piledriver and Taz says he wishes he'd known that in '95. Neckbreaker fakeout INTO AN RNC, but RUSH backwards headbutts him. DEATH RIDER HITS FOR 2.9! Mox turns it right into an RNC! Then the bulldog choke ends it! THIS RULED!

Jericho comes out after the match and also right after they set up before that Mox beat Jericho to win the title for the first time. Ange says THAT THE AEW GALAXY NEEDS TO APPRECIATE THEM! Anna Jay is now Anna J-A-S and is the sexiest and toughest. Jericho challenges him to a title match at Quake by the Lake and Mox says that he isn't the INTERIM champ - he is THE CHAMPION NOW, but he can't stand this sports entertainment bullshit. Mox doesn't want the wizard or king of trademarks - he wants the guy he saw in VHS tapes and the Super J-Cup Jericho! HE WANTS THE LIONHEART! He wants Moxley vs. the last survivor of the Dungeon, Chris Jericho!

Trios titles debut at All Out and are influenced by the WCW '93 Tag titles. Starks is out to face Danhausen for the FTW Title and Starks gets a giant intro. Starks spears him and wins quickly. Starks grabs the mic and wants ANOTHER CHALLENGER for right now! HOOK IS OUT TO DEFEND DANHAUSEN'S HONOR and STARKS IS DOOMED. DOOMED! Taz points out that Starks helped train him, but he doesn't know everything HOOK knows and Taz brings up this is HOOK's debut in orange. 

Hook runs wild in the corner and headbutts him. SPEARS TO HOOK! Roshambo COUNTERED INTO THE REDRUM! STARKS TAPS AND TAZ'S SON WINS HIS FATHER'S TITLE! Hook holds it high and fist-bumps Starks. Taz is so proud of his son! This was fantastic! Recap of the title win after the break. 

After the break, starks meets with Tony Schiavone and says that he isn't a stranger to losing, but he wants everyone to know that he turned that title from a noose into a tie and made it prominent again! He deserved the title and he deserves to speak for more than 40 seconds - HE AIN'T WAITING HIS TURN! He says he hasn't had bad luck, it's bad timing and Hobbs just lariats the shit out of his neck and spinebusters him hard. 

Acclaimed talks shit to the Gunn Club and says that they have to watch their rap to see what kind of match they'll have on Rampage. Sammy's out with Tay to face Dante Martin with Skye Blue. Crazy flip dive off the ramp by Dante! Dante eats a dive, but gets a Suicide Solution for 2. Dante moonsaults to avoid a shot from Sammy and Sammy follow-up with a Cody cutter and the GTH ends it. THIS RULED! 

Anna and Tay beat up Skye. Ruby, Kingston, and Ortiz make the save to a GIANT EDDIE chant. Garcia has been working hard while Danielson has been busy with his garden and kid and that's great - he can send them right back there and prove that he's the best TECHNICAL SPORTS ENTERTAINER TODAY! Lethal and Dutt bitch about Joe cheating and then call out the Best Friends. Best Friends say that you can see us - WE'RE SIX FEET AWAY IN TIE-DYE SUITS! SONJAY DUTT RETURNS IN A TRIOS MATCH! 

Jungle Boy Jack returns as the MILF Defender with Luchasaurus and he paces himself, and says that Christian is THE BIGGEST PUSSY HE HAS EVER SEEN AND HE'S TIRED OF HIS BULLSHIT. He's more relevant than ever thanks to what he's done for him and the reason Christian wanted that bonus he was so pissed about losing was CHRISTIAN'S WIFE DIVORCED HIS BITCH-ASS! "Just like all the guys in the movies with the turtlenecks and the small pricks...what do you think happened to the wife!?" Jack says that three years ago, he was digging his father's grave with his uncle and then Chrsitian interrupts him.

Christian says he ran because HE WAS SCARED ABOUT WHAT HE COULD DO TO HIM! He's going to drape him in a body bag and put him right next to his father. Jack told Christian all of his secrets and he'll torture him with them. Cutler chats with the Bucks about the trios titles and Cutler wants in! They wish Hangman a happy birthday for tomorrow before the Dark Order comes in and they're SLOWLY turning character babyfaces here. 

Swerve vs. Nese and Sterling with the heels having a "Perfect Strangers" knock-off and Swerve landing a head trap backbreaker to Nese. Run-up boot to Sterling ends it. Backstage, Josh Woods is standing over Keith Lee, and I guess he's joining Nese and Sterling. Nese jumps Swerve! Good setup for a tag match down the line.

House of Black promo and Malakai says that God and the devil are the same nowadays. Miro has wanted to redeem others, but he will give him the chance to sit atop the throne. Brody challenges Darby to a coffin match - he'll bring the flowers for his head stone. PAC's title defense is shown. Rosa vs. Yamashita is hyped up alongside the main event. 

Miyu Yamashita is out and has a killer theme. Awkward start on the floor. German to Rosa, fire thunder driver ends it. Christian vs. Matt Hardy is up for next week and Mox vs. Jericho is set for Quake at the Lake. October 12 is the Canada debut of AEW. Garcia vs. Danielson is up and Danielson jumps him with a corner dropkick and the corner middle kicks!

Danielson eats shit on the tope! Jericho says he's hot now and it's time to regain his title. Garcia uppercuts Danielson hard after Danielson just looks at him joyously giving him a limb. Big dropkick off the top by Danielson and he sells it. Danielson rolls out and Garcia goes out and sends him into the steps. DDT ON BARE CONCRETE BY GARCIA!

Garcia has split Bryan open and rakes the boot on the face! Corner uppercuts by Garcia and BATTLEBOTS RETURNS ON TBS! Corner avalanche back suplex by Danielson! BACK AND FORTH CHOPS and Danielson's chest is red. CHEST AND BACK KICK COMBO BY DANIELSON! BUZZSAW KICK ENDS THE SERIES! GARCIA HOISTS HIM INTO AN RNC! 

Danielson rolls through into the cattle mutilation and the tiger suplex gets 2! Danielson goes for the hammer and anvil elbows, but Garcia gets them! REGALPLEX SNAPS HIM FOR 2.9! BUSAIKU KNEE HITS! LeBell lock is avoided thanks to the rope. APRON DIVING KNEE BY DANIELSON! Danielson gets grabbed and a snap piledriver and sharpshooter are locked on by Garcia! HE CRANKS BACK! DANIELSON PASSES OUT AND GARCIA WINS A STAR-MAKING MATCH BY REF STOPPAGE!

What a stellar match! AEW needed to rebound for a sea of iffy shows and especially last week, and needed to feel like the "it" company again and did so with a stellar program tonight.
