AEW Dynamite 3-30-22

It's a pretty fun show tonight with Danielson against Wheeler Yuta and Darby facing off with Andrade. CM Punk starts the show off to face Max Caster. Caster buries Will Smith, and Punk for his teeth, acting, and says he'll have him crapping his pants like he's a z-pak. Punk goes chest-first into the buckle by Caster. Punk's left elbow gets busted open and a corner knee misses for Punk. Neck chop and a fisherman buster get 2 for Caster. Corner knee and bulldog hit for 2. Punk gets tripped up top and eats a missile dropkick draped for 2. Mic Drop misses! BIG PILEDRIVER BY PUNK! Called a tombstone by JR and the vice taps him - fun stuff.

Punk and Tony are mid-ring and Punk says he wants the champ whether it's Adam Cole Baybay or he'll stare down the barrel at some cowboy shit. He's got a lot of grey in his beard and he'll get more before his time in AEW is over, he'll add more scars, AND HE WILL BE WORLD CHAMPION! Tremendous! Dax says that Wardlow's their friend and he doesn't want to get in the middle of their issues and MJF says he didn't want to bring this up, but Wardlow talked shit about them. 

Lethal's out to his starting off a good theme into a generic one to suffer at the hands of Moxley. Lots of matwork until Mox Germans him, big lariat in the corner and slugs away. Lethal avoids a superplex and Mox hits his knee before going outside and landing a dive. Chops and leg kicks by Lethal wear Mox down before a double-down on a crossbody collision. Lethal avoids a lariat, but eats a nasty lariat on the rebound. 2.5 off the Lethal Combination and Lethal avoids the Death rider and kicks the leg and wants the Lethal Injection, but he gets RNCed! Bret-Piper cradle gets 2.5! Sheer drop brainbuster by Lethal sets the elbow up! Nails it for 2.9! Figure four countered for 2 and then Mox hits the Death Rider for the win. THIS RULED! This was one of Mox's best TV matches and one of Lethal's best matches ever. 

Marina Shafir hype video! FTR vs. Gunn Club is out and they have a new tron. JR asks when they're going to be AEW World Tag Champs... okay then sure there. MJF is on commentary and says Where's Wardlow is the new thing. Ass Boys are in HBK cosplay and Austin walks over Dax. Ex and MJF put over FTR going to Mexico to work across the world and now they're the best in the world. MX elbow gets 2 for Dax. Cash chops away and MJF calls the Boys kids and Ex points out that they're older than MJF is. 

Dax runs wild with punches and a corner strike combo! Dax gets hung on the rope before an outside-in suplex leads to cheating and a 2. WARDLOW RUNS WILD ON SECURITY! POWERBOMB ON A TABLE! MASSIVE Wardlow chants as he's forced out - they're doing a great job getting him over with this. Big Rig ends it - this was a blast! MJF argues with FTR to a MASSIVE FTR chant. MJF is so over that everyone around him gets over as a result. It's amazing. Hobbs vs. Lee hype video for Rampage! 

JAS is backstage and Jericho says that FOR OVER THREE WEEKS, they've been the worldwide leader in sports entertainment. They have Daddy Magic check for Kingston and PNP and THEY GET THEM. Tremendous! Jericho avoids the street sweeper thanks to Hager, who plants Kingston. Garcia locks the sharpshooter on Kingston while Jericho bats Kingston. Jericho whips Kingston with his belt across the back. 

Mark Sterlling and Jade hype up her 30th foe - LEVA BATES! Jade is pissed about that and Jade wants option 2 - MARINA SHAFIR! Danielson vs. Yuta is up and Regal says he's excited to see him compete for the Pure Title on Friday. Regal is upset over Danielson being called only ONE OF the greatest of all time. Yuta monkey flips him and gets wristbarred before he gets the rope. Round kick to the stomach as Yuta comes off the rope. 

YUTA EATS CORNER CHOPS AND WANTS MORE! UPPERCUT FLURRY BY DANIELSON and a backslide gets 2 for Yuta. Snap German by Yuta gets 2! Regal just basically put Yuta over as the young Danielson of the modern era - tremendous way to put him over. Hammer elbows by Danielson but YUTA GETS HIS OWN! Amateur cradle gets 2.9 for Yuta and a big NOOOOO! This is unreal to see unfold live. BUSAIKU KNEE HITS! Yuta spits on Danielson and eats the trapped kicks, the Gotch piledriver and the LeBell lock ends it! THIS RULED. A star was made here. Well, again - he's OVER!

The Undisputed Elite is out with taped-up belts and KOR DOES BELT GUITAR! Page comes out in a JBL longhorn Tesla and beats down the goons! They run before JURASSIC EXPRESS ATTACKS!

Rosa is out for her proper celebration. FTR puts over themselves as the AAA Tag Champs and says they'll win the ROH Tag Titles on Friday. Dax says he doesn't want to take second place and HE WILL ISSUE THE CHALLENGE to the Bucks - once again. TOP GUYS OUT! The Bunny is out to face her mystery opponent - TONI STORM, who looks so happy, like KAIRI, she just feels free. 

Dropdown from Bunny sees Toni run opposite and dropkick for 2. Toni hits a big lariat on Bunny, who bumps great for her. Big headbutt by Toni! HIP ATTACK BY TONI! Giant boot by Toni hits hard and a fisherman suplex gets 2 for Toni. Superkick series by Bunny gets 2! Rabbit Hole is avoided and STORM ZERO HITS FOR THE WIN. Love it! Vickie shoves Tony back and thus can't be heard on the mic. Nyla fixes that and says that SHE IS THE FOUNDATION! 

Andrade vs. Darby is up and Darby skates down sans Sting, who goes to the back only to eat a lariat on the ramp. Andrade wants a walking suplex off a dive from Darby, but Darby nixes that and hits him. Darby takes the most disgusting high backdrop on his knees, face, and everything. Jesus - he got ragdolled like the OG Saints Row insurance mini-game. 

STIFF SLAP EXCHANGE! MASSIVE RIGHT HAND SLUG takes Darby down and shocks fans. Andrade takes the belt off and Darby gets a stundog! Dash into the corner by Darby meets a uranage backbreaker for 2! God this is just so nuts! Crucifix into a Fujiwara by Darby! Jose runs down but STING HITS HIM! Butcher and Blade jump Sting, who gets saved by Darby. Schoolboy bomb into the corner and El Idolo wins it! This ruled!

AFO JUMPS STING! BUT THE HARDYS ARE HERE TO  SAVE! They face Butcher and the Blade in a tables match on Dynamite. This show should do really well in the ratings - great content throughout with stars. Twisto>swanton on Quen hits. This was so much fun!

AEW Dynamite 3-23-22

We've got a fun show on tap with Sting, Darby and the Hardys against the AFO in a tornado tag. Punk vs. Dax is up and they hype up the changes for the Pinnacle with Tully being gone and Wardlow leaving. Gunn Club is in the crowd being douches and G. Gordon Dax eats some chops. Forearm shiver exchange leads to a calf kick getting 2 for Punk. SUPERPLEX BY DAX! Diving headbutt gets 2 for Dax and an Anaconda Vice is locked on! Upkick sends Dax into the buckle and a small package gets 2.9. GTS TURNED INTO A SHARPSHOOTER BY DAX, but Punk turns it into the Vice for the win. THIS RULED! Punk gestures for the belt. 

We get a shot of Jericho with Silver when he was a kid. Jericho talks shit about Santana, Ortiz, and Kingstonwho aren't here. TORNADO TAG TIME! Sting is 8-0 in AEW! STING DIVE. Jeff dives. STINGER SPLASH ON THE BARRICADE! DARBY GETS POWERBOMBED ON THE RAILS AND DOWN THE STEPS!

Double side effect to Matt off the stage through a table! Jeff does a swanton OFF THE CONCOURSE WINDOW AREA! Gin and Juice attempt, but Sting turns it into a sorta-dragon sleeper and locks that on until Matt gets into position for a stereo deathdrop/Twist of Fate. That may not have been five stars - but it was perfect. No way for that to be any better - and even the makeshift dragon sleeper worked within the context of the match.

FTR insults the Ass Boys and says they're Billy's Sons and they'll see them at Dynamite next week. Regal is amazing on commentary and puts over Young Pillman for working hard against Mox. Mox sells a boot from Griff that charitably hit and a Death Rider hits! STOMPS AND ELBOWS! Bulldog choke and the LeBell Lock end it - THESE GUYS RULE! Moxley puts Regal over and he accepts it and the cheers. Mox says if you think you can ride with them, you better find the darkest place and love pain. The Blackpool Combat Club is here!

MJF comes out with security and he buries Wardlow for losing to Scorpio Sky because HE WOULD HAVE LET HIM KEEP THE BELT. MJF promises another Punk match for a loss and it won't be over until he attends his funeral and pisses on his grave. MJF says that he gave Wardlow everything he has and he didn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of before he signed him. AND YOU SIGNED A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL AND THOSE ARE IRON-CLAD! MJF says he'll keep him on the payroll to stay at home! 

Yuta says he isn't the Best Friend he can be - he wants to be the best WRESTLER he can be. Okay then good stuff there. Cole's out to face Jay Lethal, who has the Savage-esque theme and the non-Savage getup. Ex brings up their history in ROH - so I'm sure that will be something we see pay off later. Triple tope from Lethal after a misdirect from Cole. Jacknife cradle for 2. Lethal combo and injection is avoided. Panama sunrise hits and gets 2.9! ReDRAGON distraction and a low blow lowers the Boom to end it. Good stuff!

Cole calls out Page and Page lashes them! LOW BLOW FROM COLE! Cole steals the belt and we get Dustin vs. Archer on Rampage. Tremendous babyface fire from Dustin in this. Sammy and Tay are mid-ring and Sammy says that he doesn't have the belt - but he has THIS RING. They challenge ATT now before Lambert comes out as the CO-TNT CHAMPION, but no PVZ as she is excluded from being in shitstain towns and plugs her page and works in an Orange Cassidy pockets reference. Sammy says they live rent-free in Dan's head and now that they've got that second belt on, they live in his mouth too. 

Swerve vs. Starks is set up for the FTW Belt - hyped! Swerve is a megastar in the waiting. Leyla vs. Red Velvet, again. Both have great themes but aren't quite there in the ring. Distract with a turnbuckle and then that gets taken away and she bonks Velvet with another in her trunks to win. Twas a match. Jade wants a big celebration and Rosa gets a hero's welcome before VICKIE COMES OUT! Nyla jumps her.

"Judas" is still MASSIVELY over and Matt Lee is great saying they shouldn't be singing it! Hungee and Jericho are hilarious together and Jericho is just selling like a goof. Silver doing the COMEONBABY pin rules. Floyd shot by Jericho and Reynolds taps to the bridging deathlock from Garcia.

AEW Dynamite 3-16-22 Hardys vs. Private Party

It's sort of a tentpole show tonight with Britt vs. Rosa for the women's title, Sky vs. Wardlow for the TNT Title, and the Hardys making their AEW in-ring debuts against Private Party. TUE is out for their trios match against Page and Jurassic Express. Tremendous teamwork takes out Luchasaurus before Page comes in and hits Fish with a pop-up powerbomb for 2 before Fish avoids the buckshot. TRIPLE MOONSAULT BLOCKS BY THE FACES and it gets 2 for Jack! Craziness across the board before Jack hits a DOUBLE DOOMSDAY DEVICE before falling to the boom. THIS RULED!

Keith Lee and Team Taz chat about a truce. REGAL IS AMAZING ON COMMENTARY before the match. He thanks JR and Tony and says the masked man has done nothing for him before asking what on Earth Danhausen is. Regal vs. Danhausen in a comedy match has to happen at some point. "Pray tell, man with the mask - who is the demon wraith?" "I don't have any merch yet - but I do have jams for sale!" MUTA LOCK by Danielson! KIMURA BY MOX! Yuta gets a corner forearm shiver and a German for 2! Moxley bites Taylor's nose and Death Riders him on the floor.

 

Danielson gets 2.9 off the Regalplex and a MASSIVE Yuta chant breaks out. Basement face stomps from Bryan lead to the bulldog choke and the win. THIS TEAM IS AMAZING! Regal works as a contrast and compliment for both of them as well - tremendous chemistry with all of them. Yuta smacks the shit out of Regal and Regal lets him live and he's impressed by him. TREMENDOUS star-making deal there.

Starks hypes up The Acclaimed to take out the new guys. Swerve says that he's turned Rampage into his house. JAS arrives. Matt Lee saying that EVERYONE SHOULD BE THANKFUL TO JERICHO FOR LETTING THEM SING HIS SONG is hilarious. He should have said they should be grateful he doesn't charge them royalties for it. Jericho says that Sammy walked out on him and PnP and their buddy Kingston embarrassed him. 

Jericho says that HE IS A SPORTS ENTERTAINER and Garcia says he is too! Jericho says that he dedicated thousands of dollars to guys in January of 2019 who got into a car accident and the man who was told he would never walk again. MATT LEE AND JEFF PARKER get their real names back and HIS OLD PAL KEVIN told him to try to get them a job at his recommendation due to his podcast and he did that. Deeb-Shida hype video with Deeb insulting her a bunch. Hyped for Jericho to demand his legal counsel ensure that anyone hurt by the JAS has their contract frozen during their recovery time.

Wardlow's out for his TNT Title match. Austin VanZant gets tossed in for the powerbomb and doesn't know how to do that, so it looks like he's leaning in to give Wardlow head. POWERBOMB SYMPHONY TIME! Lambert distracts Wardlow and Sky rolls outside before Spears comes out. MJF posts him and Spears distracts the ref. Schoolboy gets the win - okay, that was good. Austin rains down shitty elbows. POWERBOMB ATTEMPT TO MJF, but Spears chairshots him! Austin gets an RNC and MJF pays off Lambert before KOing him with the ring. Tha twas the best possible way to have Wardlow lose while also having Sky look iffy.

Private Party vs. Hardys is up with Quen looking so fly in his intro. Hardys look enough like their younger selves to pull this off visually, which is amazing given the lives they've lived. In the ring though..not quite there. Jeff can move quickly in spurts and Matt can at least strike quickly. Twisto into the Silly String into a twisto in stereo! SWANTON just crushes and he's becoming like latter-day Savage where he's just going to kill folks with that shit. AFO is out and Sting and Darby save.

Big intro for Rosa in her hometown while Britt's out in her Hall jacket and revamped gear. It's amazing how his legacy lives on through her as a main eventer by association. God, the Rosa intro shows how easy it is to make a star in their hometown.

Britt gets raked against the cage and sliced up! They fight outside and since the cage is larger, they can brawl and toss each other around the cage. SUPERKICK TO THE REF BY BRITT! Britt gets cradled to no count. FIRE THUNDER DRIVER HITS TO NO COUNT! NO! Britt chairshots her and sets up a ton of chairs AVALANCH AIR RAID CRASH ON THE CHAIRS!

"They've opened the door for Aubrey Edwards..." - much like the first cell. Britt sets up a chair pyarmid and hits it! TACKS! Backdrop sends them right into Rosa's ass and Britt wants Lockjaw but ROSA SLAMS HER HAND INTO THE TACKS and then powerbombs her onto the tacks! FIRE THUNDER DRIVER WINS IT FOR ROSA! What a win - not as great a match as last year's, but better than the PPV match easily. Love her celebrating and Dustin coming out to hug her.
