AEW Dynamite 2-21-24 FTR vs BCC

 

This is far from the biggest Dynamite card - but it looks like a great one overall from an in-ring perspective. FTR vs. the BCC is up first and it should be a banger. Claudio and Cash slug it out before Cash works the leg and Dax tags in and chops away at Mox and gets a snap suplex and snap legdrop for 2. On the floor, Mox gets tossed into the steps after SOME GODDAMN STUPID RAMMING HEADBUTTS!

Massive chop from Cash before a kneeling dropkick leading to Taz saying if he was in the ring, that's how he'd do it - he's not one to leave his feet! ONE MAN DOUBLE TEARDROP SUPLEX BY CLAUDIO! Dax eats a stuff piledriver on the floor. Mox just boots Cash hard before a powerplex by FTR BUT CLAUDIO GETS A SWING! Mox dropkick gets 2! BCC GETS DUELING RNCs! DUELING SHARPSHOOTERS AND DAX AND CLAUDIO JUST SLAP EACH OTHER. Piledriver at 19 gets 2.9! Shatter Machine attempt during the time limit draw so FTR just goes for a sharpshooter instead.

AND THEY ALL JUST KEEP CLUBBERING! OC meets with Renee about his crazy few weeks and he's barely been cleared. Odd to have these clips AFTER RENEE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT IT but okay. FTR and BCC argue and I guess we'll get a rematch at Revolution. OC vs. Bennett is up! OC eats a group beating on the ramp and recovers with CORNER GROUNDED SLOTH KICKS! Bennett hops on the headset and talks shit and eats a suicide dive! SECOND DIVE ON ANOTHER SIDE! APRON SPINEBUSTER BY BENNETT! They go back and forth on a piledriver/beach break before Bennett hits a GOTCH PILEDRIVER! Gets 2 and a superkick from OC leads to a Bennett discus elbow! Punch ends it and goons run in! JAKE HAGER MAKES A SAVE! 

Ang and Ruby prepare for their date from the '50s and FLAIR ARRIVES IN A BIG WHITE SUV! He tells Renee he's going to be in Sting's corner and he says he wishes he was a bigger part of everything. ONE MORE HEEL TURN ON STING! He chats with Matthew and Nicholas to air his issues to the EVPs. Daniel Garcia faces Christian Cage at Revolution! The Patriarchy is out and he says that Copeland brings ruin and it will lead to Garcia being taken out at Revolution. Christian knows things the crowd doesn't know - HE HAD A DARK CHILDHOOD. HIS FATHER IS DEAD and he was a loser! Nick Wayne eats a sharpshooter and then Killswitch goes down and eats a beating from DADDY MAGIC!

RVD, Hangman and Hook are backstage yammering for a bit. TIMELESS TONI STORM is here! Sydni Winnell is doomed here. Thesz Press and some Dark Order punches on the ground. Hip attack, storm zero and the ankle lock are on! BUT SHE WINS WITH THE VENUS DE MILO!

Deonna comes out TO UPSTAGE TONI AND GETS A FINGER WAGGING! Deonna vs. Madison Rayne and why can they not just buy or license KILLA QUEEN!? I'm sure she's a wonderful woman, but WHY IS A MADISON RAYNE MATCH GOING THROUGH AN AD BREAK IN 2024!? Rising knee by Deonna  After some slow motion...things from Madison and Deonna gets the ankle lock and it's over thank God. Deonna beats up Toni for a bit but gets locked in the ankle lock...so I think Deonna's winning at the PPV. ANKLE LOCK GRAPEVIBE!

Darby and Sting talk about family and Sting says a week ago, his father passed away. He says he's not invincible and eulogizes his father while making his match feel like a huge deal. Wardlow talks about having thousands of people chanting his name and now he's got none of that. Wardlow talks about beating Punk's ass and he's still falling apart from what he did to him. He beat up MJF too! Good soundbyte work in that promo and that's all it needed to be. Callis promo on Sammy calling him a cuck.

Cage in the Wolf Hawkfield gear works over Hook after some brief Hook-Joe stuff to start. Cool RVD-Swerve stuff for a bit - I've got to do that match tonight in 2K23. Five star on Cage but Joe jumps in! Joe kicks ass in the corner. Tower of Doom German to Cage leads to a superplex to Page! Redrum to Cage but Joe tags in. Cage powerbomb leads to the House Call kick! A Swerve PK hits Joe! HANGMAN TAKES OUT SWERVE WITH A TABLE POWERBOMB! Snap powerslam by Joe gets 2 on Hangman! HOOK EXPLODERS JOE! Five star is avoided by Cage and he discus lariats Hook! RNC by Joe to RVD and it's over!  This was a lot of fun.

AEW Dynamite 2-14-24

Well, I was planning on watching this a bit later with work winding up running later than expected and doing Kadie's stream- but Kadie's stream is put off for the week so what the heck. This isn't a loaded lineup, but it looks fun and starts off with Moxley against Dax Harwood, which should be fantastic. We get some bird flipping, kissing, clubbering and upkicks! Mox catapults him into the post AND HE SMACKS THE STEPS TOO! 

Mox goes for corner punches and eats a Ligerbomb for 2. We get more clubbing after a break They go up top and Mox rakes the back and WE GET CLONKING HEADBUTTS IN 2024. Ugh. Time call for 15 minutes, 5 left - so it's probably going to a time limit draw. Mox lands a cutter, curb stomp and short piledriver for 2.999! Mox avoids a diving headbutt and gets an RNC! Perfect - they did time calls and we still got a clean finish! 

Cash saves Dax and Claudio comes in for a beating. Callis makes Takeshita vs. Ospreay for Revolution. Wardlow's out to demolish Barrett Brown. Draping knee GTS hits and then the delayed Last Ride ends it. Copeland's out for a non-Cope Open match against Daniel Garcia! The Cope Open run reminds me a lot of what Bockwinkel would do when he'd go to a territory - give people a really solid rub and give them a lot of time to shine. He lets Garcia DO HIS DANCE DURING A ROMERO SPECIAL STOMP.

Avalanche dragon screw to Cope! Avalanche...double arm suplex? Ex called it an avalanche impaler. Cope gets the crossfacde on and Nick Wayne and Killswitch jump them. KILLSWITCH ATTACKS DADDY MAGIC! MOTHER WAYNE SAVES CAGE and Wayne's World hits!  CONCHAIRTO TO COPELAND!

Joe says he brought rankings back to massacre folks in order and THAT WAS ALL RUINED BY LAST WEEK'S DRAW. HIS MATCH IS NOW BIGGER AND DUMBER AND HE WILL DESTROY THEM BOTH! Swerve is out and Joe is gobsmacked by the dancing and Swerve says YOU SAID YOU NEED TO CHECK THE RESUME and you WILL DO THAT AND YOU WILL PUT RESPECT ON THE NAME!

Matthew and Nicholas are out to face Top Flight and win a fun match with the EVP trigger AND Sting's soul patch. Matthew and Nicholas threaten Tony with a fine and an EVP trigger before Darby saves and says the company started to change the world and he was homeless and they saw nothing in him but ALL THEIR SHIT FRIENDS GOT HIRED! Thankfully, a smart EVP got him in and it's not Kenny! Darby and Sting against the Bucks is official for Revolution. Bang Bang Scissor gang stuff.

Willow vs. Skye Blue is up and I love how they are such opposites with Skye being such a heel against the ultimate babyface. Pounce sends Skye out and Skye gets the dragon sleeper. APRON POUNCE BY WILLOW! Turnbuckle wedge superkick by Skye gets a walking powerbomb for 2. CODE BLUE BUT STOKELY DISTRACTS AUBREY! THE BABE WITH THE POWERBOMB ENDS IT!

Main event is up with Orange Cassidy against Matt Taven in a Texas death match for some reason. Taven suplexes him through a table that is clearly split in the replay. DEADMAN DIVE BY TAKEN THROUGH A TABLE! VALENTINE'S CHOCOLATE HOLDER FULL OF TACKS BY OC! TACKS FOR BOTH GUYS AND BENNETT ATTACKS OC WITH A PURPLE heart before getting a ton of chairs. Taven rips the pockets out and and eats a chain punch before Strong KOs Trent and OC wins it! 

AEW Dynamite 2-7-24 - Swerve vs Hangman III, Sting and Darby Go for Tag Gold

We're starting off strong with FULL ON MAGNUM HANGMAN and facing Swerve in the opener for the Revolution World Title shot. Watching this on DVR for Kadie's Palworld stream and we start off with a lock-up and Taz adding so much to it with his commentary on using it as a way to find weakness in a foe. MASSIVE big boot from Swerve off the irish whip! Swerve gets sent over and Hangman avoids a countout by resetting the clock and hits a fallaway slam on the floor. Chops in the corner lead to Taz plugging Wooo Energy and saying he's Segway Jones. BUT I DIGRESS. Orihara moonsault is avoided and Swerve hits the rolling flatliner!

Swerve eats a sunset bomb and gets spiked, but pop up for a Tornado kick only to eat a Liger bomb for 2! SWERVE AVOIDS A BUCKSHOT AND HITS ONE! SWERVE STOMP GETS 1-2...2.9! Hangman DDT ON THE BARRICADE! SWERVE STOMP ON THE APRON! Table time. REBOUNDER LARIAT BY HANGMAN AND A BUCKSHOT! FOOT ON THE ROPE JONES! Deadeye on the apron and it hits! He chairshots Nana! Swerve gets him with a chair and the swerve stomp hits BUT HE CAN'T COVER! JML Driver, but Hangman rolls through and snaps the hurt ankle! SWERVE HITS A DEADEYE OFF THE APRON THROUGH A TABLE!

A third swerve stomp misses and the ankle is done! Buckshot BUT NO THE JML DRIVER HITS BUT HE CAN'T COVER! HE DOES BUT THE TIME EXPIRES! The 30 minute time limit is over and they really do need regular time calls for this to mean more than a boo finish. Swerve, the valiant babyface yells NO! "I DIDN'T GO THROUGH ALL THIS FOR IT TO END LIKE THIS! HANGMAN, I'M NOT LETTING YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS THAT EASY!" Hangman tells him that YOU had to beat ME to become the number one contender and YOU DIDN'T DO IT!

Tony Schiavone has JUST SPOKEN TO TONY KHAN and it's not done! WE NOW HAVE TWO NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS and it will be a three-way at Revolution! Samoa Joe busts out the King Shark voice to say that they are embracing mediocrity and HE IS SAMOA JOE AND HE IS THE WORLD CHAMPION! AND THE BOTH OF YOU WILL SUFFER AS A RESULT! Toni Storm vs. Red Velvet is up with a lot of matwork from Toni. Hip attack and a snap DDT gets 2 for Toni. Toni gets a TORTURE ANKLE LOCK WITH A HEAD STOMP TO WIN!

Team CMLL vs. BCC is up! Voladar Jr, Hechicero and Mascara Dorado are out looking fantastic. Hech made himself a big star on Collision and redoes some of that with Danielson. Dorada and Claudio slug it out! Double armdrag to Danielson and Mox is a bit wonky but he uses Mox as a base to jump kick Danielson. Code Red to Claudio gets 2.5 when Mox breaks it up. Claudio and Heicho land back and forth shots! HEADSCISSOR GUIOLITTOINE HITS FOR 2! Claudio hits a ballshot and a cradle on Hechi to win.

The CMLL crowd guys including Mistico are out before jobbers are out to give Team CMLL a win soon. Tony Khan announces Big Business on March 13 in Boston - so likely Sasha's debut and maybe Okada too. Jericho vs. Takeshita is up and Jericho gets knees up on a senton. Ditto the Lionsault meeting knees there. AVALANCHE BLUE THUNDER BOMB HITS! ONLY A 2.9! Big knee, but Walls are on! Screwdriver to the head by Callis and the Walls are on and Jericho's out! He recovers at 2 hand drops and TAPS TO THE LIONTAMER! 

Title time for the Stinger! It's crazy that this whole run even happened and Sting gets to basically retire as a champion! We see Sting's sons in the crowd and they couldn't look more like Sting's sons if they tried. Walk and brawl before Sting runs wild with backhands and lariats!

Coffin and stinger splashes to Bill! STANDING COFFIN DROP TO BILL ON THE FLOOR! Darby stops Bill from preventing a breakup on the Deathlock, but Starks pulls himself out of the ring. Ricky pulls the buckle pad off and Sting splashes it and eats a spear for 2.9 with a bit of a delay from Ricky! Sting catches the spear and gets a deathdrop and the win! The Bucks come in and beat up the champs and THE LITTLE STINGERS who are just jacked. I love Taz making sure to call them Matthew and Nicholas. Paycheck Jones ova here! Darby gets sliced up by MATTHEW AND NICHOLAS!
