AEW Dynamite 11-27-19 - Sky vs Jericho for the Title

Batman Returns is the pre-Dynamite movie and a ton of fun to watch - maybe a bit terrifying in theaters at 8, but a tremendous film. A giant celebration is setup for Jericho with SOULTRAIN JONES! He botches every single line he tries to deliver and...yeah that's not too shocking. High-dollar setup for the celebration - far bigger than TNA, where they'd get the c-string junior high band. Jericho offers up 50 cent coupons off his shirt and they've actually made A LITTLE BIT OF THE BUBBLY!

PNP comes down with a box of random crap. Sammy unveils a loving photo of the two of them and Santana gives him anti-itch cream. They give him some flip-flops and A LITTLE BIT OF THE 40! Hager brings out a goat named Chris Jerigoat. They unveil the giant box and it's Ted Irvine, who gets booed in his Rangers getup. Ted says the Blackhawks suck and then reveals Rangers custom jerseys for everyone. But not Soultrain!

Jericho has Justin Roberts come out and talk about Chicago before burying the high school he came from. Jericho is thanked by TNT and AEW brass, but Jericho didn't like his tone. SCU takes off their band member getup and beats up Soultrain Jones. HOW DARE THEY BEAT UP WRESTLING LEGEND SOULTRAIN JONES! Marco joins the announce team as part of the All Elite Fleet. Dasha is taking Justin's place now. Cassidy is out in a turkey suit, and unlike TNA's, they spent money on it. Fenix and Penta jump them before the bell. Cassidy flies and Exalibur gets out "We're really going after that over 50 demographic!" Marco can almost be heard.

Double team wheelbarrow drop gets 2. Fenix is still in his hoodie for some reason. Chuck gets a rolling half crab, but eats a superkick. Dudebuster hits Fenix and that ends it. Cool - they're getting that move over. Marco's "that. was. hot..." was something else. State Farm paid, or something, for Marco on this and they'd better get change. "Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Love you guys..."Bea Priessley's out and her graphic showcases not only her win/loss record, but her goal for the match. I like that.

She'll team with Sakura to face Statlander and Shida.Whole lotta nothing to this, with Sakura beating Statlander with a mic stand. Mox says he declared war 6 months ago and if anyone wants to try him, they're welcome to.Cody comes down with his usual ungodly amount of pyro. JR talks about Cody being number 1 before and is down to 3. He's got a giant scar over his eye now and he's facing Matt Nicks. Excalibur says that Cody may not be eligible for a title shot, but he's still able to be ranked - like a football team that can't get a shot, but they're still in rankings. Cody hits a second rope springboard cutter and a figure four ends it. I like it - get another finish over. Cody tells MJF that they don't have to wait - he wants him now before THE BLADE debuts from under the ring and rabbit lariats him. The Butcher comes out too and they land a suplex/backstabber combo. Good stuff! THE BUNNY ALLIE is their manager and she's a leather-clad heel. GREAT!

Omega vs. Pac is up. Great fast action to start. Terminator dive hits and he gets 2 off a snapdragon. Black Arrow misses! V trigger hits and Omega gets a crucifix for 2 and then turns it into another one for 3. Good, short match. MJF's out with Wardlow and we get an inset promo about the diamond ring costing $45,000 - and it doesn't belong on some white trash hick from VA. JR throws to a promo from Page and they delay airing it. Page says he isn't a ring guy - but he'll give it to MJF by shoving it up his ass.

Page lands a tope suicida and a moonsault off the top to the floor. MJF pokes the eye, but eats a discus lariat for 2. Buckshot hits, but Wardlow prevents the win and MJF hits a super-shitty Crossrhodes to win. DDP comes out to one big more TNT intro with pyro! DDP says that he doesn't approve of what MJF has done, but he's the bigger man and MJF talks shit before Wardlow steps up and DDP says a 63 year old will kick his ass.

Dustin comes out and says that Hager broke his arm and now he wants his blood! Sammy and PNP come down to attack, but Matt and Nick save before a triple shattered dreams. Dark Order ad airs. Sky uses his speed to get the better of Jericho before a Jericho dropkick gives him an edge. Pair of cutters from Sky leads to a dragon clutch. Hager comes down and gets attacked before a schoolboy gets 2 for Jericho. SCU prevents Hager from attacking and a TKO gets 2.9! Judas Effect misses, but the walls ends it. Jericho goes to attack, but MOX COMES DOWN! This will be far better than them feuding over a potted plant.
