AEW Dynamite 7-8-20 - Fyter Fest Night 2

Quick card recap starts things off while Kip shills his Twitch page. Tag title match is up with Kenny eating Silly String and then Page powerbombs Quen into the crowd. Middle rope standing swanton to the pile by Kassidy! SNAPDRAGONS! Kassidy hits On the Rocks for 2 on Kenny. Kenny monkey flips them on each other and Page blind tags in to stack powerbomb them for 2. Page eats a rolling DDT on the ramp! Quen lands a slick SSP for 2. AVALANCHE LIGERBOMB BY PAGE, V TRIGGER! LAST CALL HITS and that's it. Fun match.

Archer vs. Janela is up next. Lance tosses Sonny at Joey and Joey gets Wahoo chopped on the barricade. Lance chokes him on the rope and lariats him alongside it - that's a new twist on an age-old spot. This is a Dark match getting an ad break...for some reason.Joey gets a comeback and gets pie-faced over the top to the floor. Slingblade counter to the blackout gets 2! Joey hits a flying senton and Sonny hits a 450 since Jake has the ref distracted, and it gets 2. Blackout off the apron through a table on the floor ends it after about 35 years.

Taz is back with a major announcement...BUT FIRST MORE DARBY ALLIN PRO SKATER! Cage is out, wisely without a shirt and Taz is out looking like his coach. Taz says that since Mox chickened out and gives Cage the FTW Title. He says that this was his blood, sweat and tears "this is some renegade shit! and who better than Cage to go into Fight for the Fallen with momentum!"

8 man tag is up and FTR HAS NO TRUCK! Dax and Penta are incredible, but damn are he and Fenix even better. Fenix and Nick have a quick exchange leads to a dueling run-up armdrag into a super rana by Nick! Matt hits a big dive onto the Bros before hitting a double flying lariat! FTR and Bucks do their moves with opposite partners and a power plex is done with Nick swantoning Penta for 2! FENIX HITS A DESTROYER OFF PENTA'S BACK ONTO MATT ON THE PILE! Friendly fire leads to Matt eating the double Zero Fear!

Alex Marvez lets Swole know that she's been barred from the building. She's been suspended and wants to know why they didn't fax her to let her know after a 3 1/2 hour drive. Nyla's out for her 2-on1 handicap match. She tosses them around and wins. Nyla says that she's seen a lot of folks do well with managers - and she's got one, but she won't reveal who it is yet. Colt has a massive bruise on his left side before Mr. Brodie Lee has him leave - but with the Dark Order behind him, these kinds of things won't happen.

Brodie visits Colt in the trainer's room as he's being tended to for badly-bruised ribs due to an off-screen attack last week. Brodie tells him that joining the Dark Order would prevent that. Colt plays reluctant heel here. Grayson lands a slick inside-out tope con hilo. Brodie hits the discus lariat and lets Colt get the win. Ex tells the tale of Colt being unbeaten since meeting with Brodie. Next week's stacked card is hyped up. Swole talks shit to Britt and throws something that bounces off Rebel and hits Britt in her once-broken nose. This was a miss.

Orange vs. Jericho is a fantastic David vs. Goliath affair. OC gets a quick cradle for 2 and then a small package for 2. Double-jump rollup with a back press gets 2 for OC. Santana's madball leads to a great "YOU DIDN'T SEE NOTHING!" Outside-in suplex to OC and then gets a pendulum backbreaker stretch. Orange gets low-bridged and PNP lays down next to him and throws cash on him. HANDS IN THE POCKETS LOW KICKS! Orange face plants him and splashes him for 2! TRIANGLE DIVE, BUT OC AVOIDS IT AND JERICHO BUMPS TO THE FLOOR!

DIVING DDT BY OC GETS 2! Jericho gets the walls and OC gets a cradle for 2. RUNNING PUNCH HITS and sends Jericho down. ORANGES TO THE FACE OF OC and the Best Friends fight PNP. Bat to the face and the codebreaker hits for 2.9! Now that was the best-looking one he's hit in years and it still didn't end it! OC hits a Michoniku driver for 2.

NOW WE'RE IN OVERTIME! Jericho goes for a suplex, but eats a stundog millionaire! Swinging DDT hits for OC and gets 2! OC runs in for the Superman punch, but the Judas Effect hits flush and ends it! This was fantastic. Both men shined brightly and the secondary acts were fantastic too. Not a great bell to bell show - but a good show overall thanks to the bookend matches.
