Jericho vs. Juvi starts the show off! Juvi looks fantastic facially and hasn't aged much. He moves great, but lands some slugs to start before an Air Hardy off the top to the floor. Crossbody off the top gets 2. Super rana by Juvi, but Jericho grabs him OFF THE TOP for a walls! Juvi hits Axel's finish and a basement superkick for 2. Juvi driver gets 2 and a Judas Effect hits before a SUPER JUDAS EFFECT GETS THE WIN! Wardlow beats up Jericho and then F10s Juvi. Casualty of War knee off the top hits! MJF makes him face Wardlow - WITH MJF AS THE REF. I was hoping for Nick Patrick as the ref for the Wardlow match.
Chavo and Andrade are dicks to the Lucha Bros and Penta says no. Okay. Andrade just isn't clicking. Dark Order is backstage and Page says that he cost them their shot - due to his issues with the Elite. He has to do this for himself and they need to go their separate ways. Danny Garcia is out with 2.0 and shines against Darby with snap cradles before Matt Lee tags in to face off with Eddie and eats some big chops. Parker hits Eddie and Lee chopblocks him for a break. Jeff Parker marks out at Sting and DARBY BLIND DIVES HIM. Oh god that spot is great. Death Rider and Coffin Drop to Danny ends it. THIS WAS FUN!
Cage-Starks hype video gives Cage a chance to shine on the mic for a bit and then we get Christian Cage vs. The Blade. Big LG is backstage in a giant gold and black Flair-style robe FOR SOME REASON. Good Brothers face Dark Order for the Impact belts next week. Bunny sneaks up on Cage during the match, but Leyla takes her out. Blade misses a corner charge and Cage dives onto him with an axehandle off the top. Cage wins with the spear off a knuck shot attempt.
Dax cuts a hell of a promo about Cash being sliced open and wondering if he was going to die - and we'll get the rematch next week. Tony brings out Britt. Red Velvet is out and says red isn't Britt's color and she wants some of DMD. Britt brings up beating her in three minutes before and Red says she was a rookie and she's on a streak now. Britt vs. Velvet is set for Rampage's debut. Britt beats her down with a curb stomp.
Andrade is interrupted by Chavo, who brings FUEGO DEL SOL in to shine Andrade's shoes. He declines and eats a beating. Chavo is delivering his best mic work since Lucha Underground here. He actually comes off as a bigger deal than Andrade...which is not exactly ideal.
Hangman comes out before The Elite interrupt. Kenny talks shit and Hangman slugs him before the goons hit! BTE TRIGGERS and belt shots! DAN LAMBERT CUTS A PROMO ON LANCE ARCHER and he'll bring backup next week. Big Shotty is out to get massacred by THE REDEEMER MIRO! GOD'S FAVORITE CHAMPION! He is THE TNT Champion! Miro clubs him with a charge and catches him of a dive for a spiral uranage! MASSIVE bearhug by Miro, but Shotty escapes and thigh and dropkicks him! TRIO OF TOPES! But it's capped off with a flip dive that leads to a sorta-powerbomb by Miro! SUPERKICK SERIES BY SHOTTY! Four superkicks and a fifth nearly hits, but Miro goes for a charge and misses! GAME OVER ENDS IT. THIS RULED!
The FOUR MAN BOOTH for Rampage is announced with Jericho, Henry, Taz, and Excalibur on it. Tony meets with Christian who is named by TK AS THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER. He sings the Golden Girls theme. Christian's singing is about as good as his promos. A bit worse than his matches. Christian says something that's cut off a bit and he says he's elite. Legit Leyla is out with the Best Friends. Bunny spins her into the rope for a backstabber. Kamille is in the front row WITH HER BELT as ya do. Superplex by Leyla to Bunny. Series of Germans by Leyla leads to shotgun knees and a shotgun dropkick. Bunny works the armbar against her for 2. Double-jump run up moonsault is overshot and Bunny gets the DVD for 2. Nightmare on Helms Street is avoided and Leyla gets the armbar!
Jade and Smart Mark talk about getting the Jade Brand over so much that she's ready for her big return on Elevation. MJF will now be at ringside and not the ref for the match. Nyla faces Kris next week. UNO AND GRAYSON COULD WIN THE IMPACT TAGS! Cody vs. Malakai Black is up! Black gets a Takeover-like entrance while Cody is out in his DoN getup. Black works the knee, but leaves himself open and Cody goes for a WOOO Figure four! JUMPING KICK TO CODY leads to Cody flying through the timekeeper's table. Jesus! BLACK MASS ENDS IT. Cody put him over like Brodie here.
Cody says legacy is a funny thing and then rambles a bit like a concussed man. He thanks Tony and says that people laughed when they said they'd have a revolution. Cody says it's been a great three years - but he's eaten at the table enough and it's time to let other people eat. He is forever grateful for the other EVPs. He loves the fans but probably doesn't like Black after he nails him with a crutch and steals the lone boot Cody took off to leave in the ring.
They went for a Cody-Brodie squash match and that part worked - but the post-match, which I expected based on Cody's weird retirement-ish group text earlier, wasn't outside of the visual of Tony interviewing him and Black holding the boot up.
