Mox stands up and THE KING MINORU SUZUKI'S theme hits and we get THE BEST NON-MATCH EVER. Oh my God. They just staredown and beat the shit out of each other and it's made all the better with Mox's blood flying on Suzuki. Mox is left laying with the big boot, sleeper, and Gotch piledriver!
Britt vs. Kris is up. Britt gets some 12-to-6 elbows to the neck on the mat. Britt eats a NASTY superplex and then gets electric chair facedropped. Area 451 misses, but Britt can't get the lockjaw! CURB STOMP ON THE FLOOR BY BRITT! Britt almost wins by countout, but OC throws her in and Kriss goes for the spider crab but Britt upkicks her jaw! Britt stomps a mudhole in her and she shoves the ref! PANAMA SUNRISE BY BRITT GETS 2.9! Britt gets the Panama Sunrise for 2.9 before turning it into the lockjaw to win. This was shaky at points, but very fun. Marvez meets with Chavo and Andrade and Chavo says he doesn't even have American Airlines' number and he has no idea why PAC has issues. DUN DUN DUN. Tag title match is uip!
The Lucha Bros get an all-time amazing introduction with a live intro of their theme that is so much better than any other live theme we've had in AEW. Ex brings up that these teams first faces off five years and one day ago in PWG and the taint dropkick gets 2. SIDE TO SIDE CAGE SPEARS FROM THE LUCHA BROS, but the second attempt doesn't work. Nick chokes Fenix with a chain and the Bucks heel it up perfectly. Rana counter to a cage bomb before Penta lands two slingblades and a backstabber! NICK LANDS A CUTTER. PENTA GETS A CUTTER. MATT GETS A RUN-UP STUNNER! STEREO CUTTER BY FENIX!
"STOMP A BLOODHOLE IN HIM AND WALK IT DRY! is an amazing line by Don. BTE TRIGGER but Fenix slowly gets up. HE EATS A TACK SUPERKICK AND THE BTE TRIGGER HITS FOR 2.9999999 WHEN PENTA KICKS OUT and Fenix saves barely. BLACK FIRE DRIVER BY FENIX GETS 2.9! This is unreal - this is the best tag match since Revolution 2020 and may be even more rewatchable. MORE INSANE STUFF with apron package piledrivers before the Zero Fear WITH A FENIX DIVE OFF THE CAGE getting the win!
Penta's family celebrates with him and we get a recap of the events so far and man what a night it's already been! Casino battle royale time and boy are the rules for this needlessly goofy. Skye Blue is out and already signed and over huge here. It's amazing to see AEW strike while the iron is hot. Blue is out by Abadon and Bunny tosses her out.
Women's battle royal is up and it's got some great stuff with Ruby Soho coming off like a star right away. She gets the "Ruby Soho" song and is so damn over already. Great final part for this match, which is...not all that good. Jade tosses Leyla out and we get some fantastic stuff with Anna Jay, Tay, and Jade tossing out Leyla over the top. Ruby and Rosa closed out the match with a fantastic series of chops and hard shots mid-ring that welted up Ruby before Ruby wins with the Soho kick on the apron to take her out after countering an apron DVD.
MJF comes out with a goofy outfit and a Jericho countdown troll video. Jericho gets a shredding live version of "Judas". that goes from great to painful. MJF is out and we get a walk and brawl early before a Jericho baseball slide is met with apron slugging like Finlay. MJF uses Jericho's hand to clap for him! LOTS of armwork and then MJF gets the heat seeker on the apron to finally do something. FINALLY something that doesn't feel like time-filler in this match. IN THEORY, this whole Jericho vs. MJF thing should do for MJF what the Foley vs. Orton feud did for Orton - but Jericho has less in the tank here than Mick did in '04. APRON POWERBOMB BY JERICHO after an Asai attempt by MJF. MJF hits the codebreaker. Somehow, that part of the story isn't called. Lionsault hits for 2.
Jericho goes up for mounted punches and the rana, but MJF lands a Ligerbomb counter and sells his back - after the apron bomb. Jericho gets a codebreaker and we get a Wardlow-Hager brawl. MJF uses the bat on Jericho. JUDAS EFFECT TO JERICHO GETS IT but his foot's on the rope! Ex says this is bullshit! Paul Turner comes out and Aubrey restarts the match! Schoolboy gets 2 for Jericho. Armbar on Jericho! Jericho turns it into the Walls! LIONTAMER VARIANT ENDS IT! Inner Circle is out to celebrate and PUNK'S DEBUT IS NEXT!
In a vignette, Darby has a BEST IN THE WORLD bodybag and flies off a helicopter because fuck it, why not. Darby is out with Sting and Punk comes out to a huge pop and then he sits on the mat in front of Darby. Armdrag and tackle with Punk getting the edge and looking good - while Ex tells the tale of Punk knowing that his own wind will be an issue here. COFFIN SPLASHES IN THE CORNER TO PUNK! DARBY GETS TOSSED INTO THE BUCKLE AND GOES THROUGH THE SECOND AND TOP ROPES. JESUS!
Neck-wrenching abdominal stretch by Punk leads to a tilt a whirl backbreaker for 2. Standing diamond dust hits for Darby. Darby goes up for the coffin drop, but Punk gets a back suplex off the top and Punk eats a crossbody counter for 2. GTS BY PUNK BUT DARBY FLIES OUT TO THE FLOOR! Punk goes for another GTS but eats a flurry of elbows! DEAD MAN'S SLINGSHOT CANNONBALL SUICIDA! STANDING SWANTON TO PUNK OFF THE TOP! Punk gets thrown in and and he goes for the Coffin drop WITH THE SLEEPYHEAD MOTION and Punk does the Taker situp. GTS IS MET WITH THE LAST SUPPER CRADLE FOR 2.9! Darby poison rana is met with a GTS AND PUNK WINS IT!
Punk polls the audience for the tunnel before QT vs. Wight is up. QT's theme is so perfect for him and Wight has a hybrid camo getup with a full top. It's a good look overall, but he's walking really gingerly. Hoping that's just selling the hip. QT dropkicks the hip and shoves him off and eats a basement dropkick that he bumps quickly for. QT gets tossed off a cutter attempt and bowls him down. Solow eats a palm chop. POUNCE to Nick! Chokeslam ends it - this was exactly what it needed to be.
Dynamite is recapped and SUZUKI VS. MOX IS ON TNT! Great Mox promo saying Suzuki will find out why he's so dangerous. Malakai vs. Dustin is hyped up and we get a live Malakai Black promo where he recaps all the destruction he's done in a month. Rampage is hyped with Pac vs. Andrade and they've got a PPV-worthy card on just TV in the next five days.
Cage is out with a revamped getup and Omega has tremendous shiny gear. Omega eats a dive off the top and lands a double stomp THROUGH A TABLE with the table over Cage! Omega eats shit off the moonsault on the floor, but gets it again and lands an ushigoroshi for 2. Corner punches on the back almost get an OWA to Cage, but he avoids and gets corner shots. Discus polish hammer attempt by Omega, but Cage takes him down for a cloverleaf. Falling reverse DDT for 2. BANG VTRIGGER SNAPDRAGON HITS!
He goes for another V trigger but eats a bird before ANOTHER SNAPDRAGON and a v trigger sends him out. APRON EVERYTHINGS teased before CHRISTIAN GETS A SPEAR THROUGH THE TABLE! SPEAR TO THE BACK BY CAGE AND THEN THE REGULAR SPEAR GETS 2.9! NASTY V TRIGGER! RIPCORD V TRIGGER! HIGH ANGLE CLOVERLEAF but the goons are out!
SPIKING KILLSWITCH HITS AFTER AN OWA COUNTER FOR 2.9! AVALANCHE KILLSWITCH but Omega GETS A SUPER ONE WINGED ANGEL TO WIN IT! Jesus what a finish! WHAT A MATCH to see Cage in. Ex asks WHO CAN DETHRONE KENNY OMEGA!? The Elite beats him up before the Jurassic Express eats a beating to a "YES" chant.
ADAM COLE DEBUTS and SUPERKICKS JUNGLE BOY! ADAM COLE IS ELITE! Cole says The Elite is the most dominant group and there's no chance no one can stop them. DANIELSON IS OUT AND HE RUNS WILD WITH THE EXPRESS AGAINST THE ELITE. You've set up Danielson vs. Omega for PPV or major TV and a great multi-man tag too. Goddamn what an all-time great night. MASSIVE AEDUB chant hits! Goddamn what a great night this was. Technical issues aside, they were worth it for all of the amazing action. This was one of the best wrestling shows ever.
