AEW Dynamite 9-1-21

Three years to the day after All in, AEW is back for the go-home Dynamite of its successor All Out. Ford faces Conti and Evans vs. OC alongside HOBBS VS. CAGE! FTR vs. PNP is the opener! FTR is out in MX-style gear and PNP has the paint on for a Frye-Takayama exchange! Tony talks about each team being opposite sides of the coin before a Santana suplex onto Cash leads to him DDTing one and suplexing the other! Three amigos and the frog splash gets 2 for Santana! Sheer drop brainbuster, the finish at FFTN, gets 2! Dash hits a Gori bomb for 2. LAX wins it! Punk will be out next and 2.0 tells Darby to not look through Danny Garcia on Rampage. Punk is out IN CHICAGO! I love JR talking about Jan's "Cat of Personality" song - I'm sure that helps him a bit just to remember fun times and tie it into what he's doing.

Punk says he's nervous and scared, but gets a "you still got it" chant - and he promises to lace up the boots and come down the aisle and give what he can. Garcia and 2.0 jump Punk! Darby and Sting save and we get a trio of finishers before Sting puts Punk over. Omega-Christian hype video airs and really puts Christian over strong. Tony meets with MJF and MJF talks about Jericho being around for 4 decades and changing with the times to stay on top. MJF says that Ali stuck around twice too many and Jericho's on the same path. Intense MJF is good stuff!

OC faces Evans, who jumps him. Crossbody thankfully doesn't stiff Evans before standing switches APLENTY! Small package during the break gets the win for OC! This is a good time debut that tool and HFO's beatdown is met by THE JURASSIC EXPRESS! Kingston says that Miro's neck is his kryptonite and asks him to take his hand so they can go to hell and if he survives, he'll meet his God. Tremendous Mox vs. Kojima hype video showcases Kojima's prime and the Countdown show is after Rampage.

JR is in tears bringing Jericho out to possibly have to retire after the PPV while All Elite Tiffany sings him out. Jericho calls MJF a piece of shit and thanks to Christian THAT GETS A CHANT. Jericho says that MJF has nothing on him except for three wins. Jericho says he isn't here to rest on his laurels - that's why he's here and if he can't beat MJF, he doesn't deserve to be here. 

A Darby short film airs where he says that he debuted when Punk left and he was insulted by Punk saying he's first - because he can't be overlooked, he should've been the last. He needs to do the impossible and beat CM Punk in Chicago. Babyface Cage jumping the two heels from behind. Hobbs regains control mid-ring with some mounted shots. Hobbs' Nitro flames and latter-day logo font gear is great. Corner gamenguri into a German to Hobbs! Hook distracts the ref and a Starks belt shot leads to the flowsion/Town Business for the win! 

Malakai Black says he left when Shotty came in because he dictates when they fight and he'll take out the Nightmare Family one by one and put coins on their eyelids. Wight is out to confront the Factory before the Gunn Club MAKES THE SAVE and then Billy turns on him. THE SHOWGUNN REUNION IS OVER! QT gets the cutter and stands over him. Britt says that the HOTTEST FREE AGENT has signed with AEW and it's her - and her girls face off with Kris on Rampage. 

Tay tosses Ford around before some cravate knees. Double jump crossbody before corner pump kicks after she avoids the Muta lock and gets a calf slicer. Back bridge off a heel double noggin knocker. This was fun, but quite sloppy at points. Heels go to attack but ANNA JAY RETURNS AND HAS TAY'S BACK! Tremendous! Jade and Nyla beat up Thunder Rosa and Smart Mark tells them to wait until Sunday. Lee Johnson vs. Malakai Black is up for Rampage. Buy In has the HFO on it against the Express and Best Friends and Yuta. 

Bucks are out to the BTE theme and JR says that Nick reminds him of Michael Hayes. PENTA IN NON-JOKER GEAR for the first time in months. I guess he finally paid the gear off and is mixing it up again. Fenix does Fenix things with Nick, thank God. SUPERKICK OFF IS MET WITH MATCHING KICKS to parry! Fenix is always in turbo mode - dude is insane! Wazzup baseball slide by the Bros gets 2. Cold spray by the goon to Fenix and the Magic Killer gets 2! Fenix avoids the BTE Trigger and gets a double Lethal Injection. Meltzer driver ends it and Callis is overjoyed!

Kenny is out to talk shit. MAGIC KILLER THROUGH THE TABLE! He knocks JUNGLE BOY JACK - YOU'RE NOT EVEN IN CONTENTION. Christian's out and spears aplenty! Kenny says he enjoyed Don's meeting with TK - and TK needs to be more careful because Don now has the cage control key. Guys try to climb but THE COLD SPRAY BY CULTER! BTE TRIGGER TO CHRISTIAN!
