The finalized TNT Title is done, and looks great. It's also tag team appreciation night, and Jericho vs. Cassidy II! "WE'VE GOT INVITED FANS PLAYING BY THE RULES!"...so here's a dude with his mask under his nose... Bucks are out and the Dark Order attacks them. Stu PKs Nick on the mat before he backflips into a tag. Double-jump swanton from Nick gets 2. Tornado kick-brainbuster combo gets 2.9 for Stu and Uno. Stu tosses Matt to the tunnel area and the gonns block Matt from coming back. Nick avoids Fatality with a sunset flip and wins at 3.1 when Stu's save is late.
MJF walks backstage in his special hallway before mocking some of his staff. Jericho vs. OC is the main event and Sky vs. Cody is hyped up. Arn and Tully and the Rock and Rolls are honored tonight. Omega says that the Bucks are his favorite team, while Page says they're his favorite team. MJF asks for hashtags before Nina brings out some polling numbers and then says he isn't here to lie down for Jon and we get some cool camera shots over his body. Mox's music hits and MJF tells his goons to go to the VOMS to block his path.
MOX COMES OUT THE RAMP and jumps him! ELEVATED PARADIGM SHIFT and Mox says they won't be even until All Out when he teaches MJF a lesson in humility. He'll make it a bitter pill to swallow and is just tremendous. MJF bitches and moans about his neck. Matt shows up with a cool new shirt and cuts a weird hybrid real/character promo about ENDING SAMMY and then he jumps Mike Posey - so they're doing a conucssion or crazed deal. All righty.
Cody vs. Sky is up and Sky kicks THE DOOR down on the ramp. Okay, neat. Sky is out on his own while Cody has half the population of Georgia with him. Sky ducks a crossbody and gets hiptossed to the floor. Cactus clotheslines sends Sky out and Cody slugs him hard. In-ring, Cody hits a snap slam before getting stun gunned. INSIDE-OUT CUTTER BY SKY ON THE RAMP! This is tremendous! Sky goes for the TKO, but Cody sends him to the Cross Rhodes for 2.9!
Cody's ribs are battered after Sky rammed them into the post earlier, so he's slow to follow up. Sky's TKO gets 2.9. Sky eats a second Cross Rhodes and that's it...that was great, but the ending was a bit abrupt. Brodie Lee cuts a promo on Cody challenging him for the Saturday Dynamite while holding the original red and silver TNT Title and he'll take his gold title, but give him the red and silver one back. TREMENDOUS!
Private Party picks the Hardys as their favorite team ever. Kenny and Page are out to face the Jurassic Express. Page wants money for a new lawnmower and Kenny bullies Marko and chops Luchasaurus, but to little effect. Jack eats a flurry of chops from both guys on each side, BUT FIRES BACK WITH HIS OWN COMEBACK BECAUSE GODDAMMIT, HE'S A MAN!
Champs hard charge into the Express in the corner. Tossing German on Jack and Luchasaurus avoids the buckshot and goes for a double goozle. Jack hits a double-jump tornado DDT and Luchasaurus tosses Marko onto Kenny on the floor and he gets 2 on Page. RUNNING POWERBOMB TO THE FLOOR ON JUNGLE BOY TOSSING HIM ONTO SAURUS! Big powerbomb with a cradle gets 2 for Page. Last Call hits Jungle Boy and he CRUMPLES to end it. Tremendous!
PNP grabs the bag of The Best Friends and bleaches their stuff. Matt Jackson puts over the RNR Express as the pioneers of their style, which begat the Hardys and the Rockers. Dax says that that he's the biggest mark for Arn, Tully, Ricky, and Robert. Because of them, they get to make a living in pro wrestling. Ricky says he loves AEW, and he hasn't seen the kind of chemistry that Tully and Arn had since. But the Bucks dominated for 15 years and they're the top team in the world. Arn puts the Bucks over for making teams a big deal again and the Express is still going 40 years strong and says that FTR is the best team in the world.
Tully DEMANDS the mic and is STILL such an asshole. Goddamn what a great promo. He says that all these guys say they're the best - but the belts make you the best. Tully doesn't get Arn's deal with Cody and says he's a grown-ass man before Spears comes in and we get a brawl with Tully and Dax hurting his knee again. FTR JUMPS THE RNR EXPRESS and Ross gets in a "GODDAMMIT NO!" and everyone is just gobsmacked at FTR.
Marvez intervies Mike Chioda before Jericho says he saved his job 18 years ago and he wants him as the ref tonight. Sammy PNP signage deal. Shida faces Heather Monroe and lands a backbreaker. LOVE the stiff forearms from Shida and a kneeling stretch muffler ends it by trapping both legs AND AN ARM. Jake cuts a promo while Lance kicks ass. He makes Jake take his shirt off and shows off "Everybody Dies" on his back. Not really sure what showing Jake Roberts without a shirt in 2020 was supposed to do to benefit anyone beyond MAYBE making Archer look like even more of a bully. All Out part 1 is coming to Youtube.
FTR vs. Private Party is up for 8/22 and the Elite face The Dark Order and the tag team cup final is up Orange is out...from wherever at...whatever to face Jericho. More shots of the fans INCLUDING THE GUY WITH HIS MASK DOWN! Jericho didn't miss a meal in Sturgis AND EATS A POCKETS DIVE! Boy, the build-up for this match was great - but the end result feels like a Jarrett walk and brawl and not a Jericho NJPW brawl. OC hits windmill slaps to lull him into eating a big calf kick!
Jericho gets some nice height on the Lionsault and counters a rana with the walls! OC GETS AN ANKLE LOCK! Codebreaker gets 2. OC gets 2 off a Michinoku driver AND THE ORANGE PUNCH HITS! Best Friends and PNP brawl and Hager hits a high-crotch slam on OC! BUT HE ONLY GETS 2! OC Mouse Traps JERICHO AND PINS HIM!
